This vid was from my team's 7yo World Series last summer. The kid at the plate, CJ, is one of our strongest hitters.

Turn the sound up.:eek:hmy:

He stayed down for a few minutes. I coach 3rd and he wasn't moving when I got to him. He didn't lose consciousness, but he wasn't there. My first words to him were, "Are you still with us?" It was very scary. When he finally got up he had to pitch to the same kid again because, by rule, the first hit was a dead ball.

Dang. I can't believe he was still in the game after he got up. I would have thrown a few "just a bit inside" after that.:)

For about 30 seconds he put on a batting helmet with a protective mask and then took it off.

It's a tough job because you are pitching to your own players and you're trying to throw pitches the kids will crush. I know when I pitch, I wear a cup and I keep my glove hand ready to block!

Did you see how high that ball bounced off his head?

I wish I had the vide of me standing on the on deck circle and getting bashed in the jaw with an aluminum bat when I was 15.

This is why they made the rule "Don't throw the bat"

Man. That is one hoss of a 7 yo pitching.

Seriously, coaches wear uniforms (including pants) in a 7 yo league?

LOL

During rec season, we wear jerseys and shorts. Once we get to the District, State and World Series tourneys, we're required to wear full unis. And let me tell you.....there is nothing hotter, in the south, in July, than baseball pants.

Thankfully, for my older son's travel team, coaches can wear team polos and shorts.

Good night! I couldn't open this at work. That's what ya call a smack down!

And you think those polyester ball pants are bad? Try pantyhose. No wonder women refuse to wear them anymore.

That's what I was thinking. I have a 7 yo that just plays rec leagues, and the coaches just wear whatever with a team hat.

Baseball pants on a grown man in a kid's league seems a little much, IMO.
