Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

Now that I went to the website, it appears they may be selling them on a single game basis.

I hope they do that so they're actually used

The RF ones were on single game deals last year at least for the Midweeks so that would make sense. They were even running some group discount promos for them where I work.

Can someone fill me in on how the student section is designed at other ballparks? I have only been to Lindsey Nelson. I have not been to other SEC parks. Are we really that different from other programs that it’s worth piling even more angst at Danny White?

I thought I remembered someone mentioning last year that LSU’s student section is fairly similar. Where are the Vandy students at and do even that many Vandy students come to the games? Just trying to understand if we’re really falling that far behind other programs.

Where they have the students isn't unusual. Its how they have it set up.

Here's what I could find around the SEC: (Couldn't find a reliable answer for Miss. State. Looks like they have Drink Rails and some grassy berms)

LSU's students sit out in RF, but its a set of tall bleachers (Students have the area under the word Diamond, pic cuts off the whole area).

Vandy- Tiny section out in left, but here's the arrangement:

Arkansas, from what I can find, they moved their students to the LF "Hog Pen" in 2022. Mostly grassy area, chairs, coolers, (and even wagons!) allowed, some bleachers

Ole Miss. Well known RF Berm, Chairs (AND COOLERS!) Allowed

Florida- Grassy berms in LF and and Grove area, plus any SRO. Blankets allowed, no chairs, no coolers.

Texas A&M- RF, large bleacher section (Sec. 12, which is a nice nod to their 12th man deal)

Insult is the right word. There is zero excuse or reason for it. ZERO. Giving them a stock pen to mill around is absolutely an insult.

Its hostile architecture and needs to be changed ASAP.

Unbolt the rails. Let them bring in chairs or those collapsible stools or something. Make it work.
Does anybody have documented input from the students on their preferences for configuration?

A little feedback after some games could define that rather than speculate. Some headcount loss will be associated with addition of tables and seats.

Pretty easy to attach things to the rails pretty quick, like cup holders or tiny tabletops with stools, backless or otherwise. For all or part of their territory. Spending money up front guessing is not a good plan.

My senior goes to virtually every game and the overwhelming feedback from her friends is they want seats or bleachers. Not a concrete slab. At the very least, they’d like a drink rail so they aren’t having their drinks or food kicked over. They should send out a survey to the students to obtain objective data on the preferred setup.

Just anecdotal, but the same thing is what I've gotten from the couple I know, and a couple I talked to at games last year. They vehemently dislike what's there.

Its honestly why its such an annoyance to me.

I get what you're saying and that's fair. But they had them there the entire 2025 season and from what I know...sought zero feedback.

Like most of said, the days of the hornets nest Lindsey Nelson Stadium is gone. Danny dollars isn't going to invest in something with little to no return like the student section.

Unfortunately, you can't have top dollar NIL players without the funding coming from somewhere. I would venture to say every SEC AD is facing the same issues. Where do we get the money to pay the players?

Very helpful, thank you. So we are one of the more unique situations with offering nowhere to sit for our students. That sucks. I mean, it seems like a lot of schools leverage extra land to put students on hills and grassy areas, rather than in the stadium, which is not something we can do.

Still, maybe they can figure out a way in the next few years to put some bleachers in RF for the students and move the crappy scoreboard somewhere else.

My oldest son got me basketball tickets for Duke to watch one of his former players play against Duke. Their students stand shoulder to shoulder, chest to back for 4 1/2 hours every game. No seats and if you go to the bathroom you don't come back from what we were told. And they don't have a problem. There were 1,500 students waiting in line to get in if there was space. I'm just saying.
