Lincoln wins kicking job.

So no one thinks Lincoln improved this past off season? New strength coach, new special teams coach, a year more to learn, a year to forget about last year, some new competition forcing him to be better. I can see it.

I believe, damn it.

Me too....it was Lincoln's to lose and he held onto the job. Experience goes a long way....Palardy will have his time.

My guess is Palardy still gets the nod in the 40+ FGs. Guys need to chill out. Depth charts are fluid.

What is the deal with Palardy? I mean, wasn't he kicking like 80% in the back of the endzones on kickoffs. Also, supposedly being incredible at kicking 50-60 yard FG's.... What's the deal?

Maybe HS football is different than college football and he needs time to adjust? Crazy thought, I know.

"The two most important things (on kickoffs) are distance and placement," Dooley said. "Chad has got a little better distance than Mike, and Mike has a little better placement than Chad, so we're ironing out those two things.

This is the part that surprised me. Apparently Cunningham is getting more distance than Palardy. Wylie must have put Cunningham through some serious leg workouts in the off season.

Lincoln has been a head case for the last two years. It would be great to see him rebound and have a solid year. Fact is our special teams have been special ed for years and he's the face.

Well he needs to prove that his job is secure. If not put the freshman in and see what he can do.

I alluded to this earlier, but it sorta went unseen. Palardy went to a high school that never needed him to kick. They scored pretty much every time they had the ball. He was more like a kickoff and extra point specialist. I wonder if his problem is kicking field goals from 40 yards away with a defense in his face

He's talking about Lincoln.

Yeah, I figured that out later on. He hasn't really been good in practice either the last two years, we just didn't have anyone else. He has had a good fall camp though, so hopefully this year he repeats his freshman season.
