Lil Wayne playing the guitar

Yea, makes alot of sense...all the examples you said earlier were good because I could give you the song and everything.

EDIT: Yes! It worked! I got the dodgy to work! Hehe... I love this smiley... freak should add it.

I was watching ESPN yesterday and one of the show hosts(was in the kitchen don't remember who) made the comment that Lil Wayne and Jay-Z are the two biggest rappers in the game. It seems that everyone is giving Lil Wayne respect except for you Rasputin.

lil wayne sucks. other than that one song his other songs completely suck. i have the xm stations in my truck and they play his crap all the time. i heard one song of his today about being an alien or et or something. completely stupid. rap/hip hop has gone down the drain. pathetic

That was the mistake you made. Some clown on ESPN makes a comment about Lil Wayne being on par with a guy that has been making records (classic hip hop records, btw) for over a decade. If you put Jigga and Weezy on a stage and made them go one on one against each other, Jigga's freestyles would burn Lil Wayne's written raps.

Also, can someone change the thread name to Hip-Hop or somethin. I would enjoy other people coming over and giving input on other artist. Dont want them to think it's just a lil wayne thread.

Lil wayne has good music, but his swag is so relaxed and effortless, his music sometimes reflects it. In his mind he knows any track he is on will be a hit, or any mic he touches turns to gold.

Weezy is not a bad rapper, just has bad performances. His new CD "Tha Carter III" is fantastic. He speaks from the heart and had some crazy instrumentals and hooks. He gets a little carried away with some of his lyrics but besides that it's great

Ludacris is still the best rapper alive though

if i'm in my car, i wanna hear someone with something to say, if i'm in a club...i'ma wanna hear catchy beats. it's a place at the table for a rapper like wayne as well as a talib. as far as wayne being the greatest...:bad: and saying rakim is garbage is almost as ridiculous as saying all rap prior to 2003 was garbage.

man, i remember being in highschool and dudes actually skipped class to cop the "chronic" and when bone came out...:yahoo:. ball & g literally made me wanna rap cuz I saw that dudes from Tenn were actually doing their thing. I could give you a timeline of my life just off of what was hot in hip hop.

btw-
new nas joint >>>>> the carter III

The thing I like about weezy is that all of his lyrics mean something, even the ones that at first you don't understand once you do you realize it is fire. He is on a level that no other rapper is right now.

I think he is ok but he gets repatitious.

"My picture should be next to the definition
of definition
Because repetition
is the father of learnin'
So son I know your barrells burning but..

Please don't shoot me down, cuz I'm fly" Sick....

"I knock on the door hope isn't home
Fates not around, the lucks all gone
Don't ask me whats wrong, ask me whats right
And I'ma tell you whats life
And did you know?
I lost everything, but I ain't the only one
First came the hurricane then the morning sun
Excuse me if I'm on one and don't trip if I light one, I walk a tight one
They try to tell me keep my eyes open
My whole city under water, some people still floatin
Then they wonder why black people still voting, cause your presidents still chokin
Take away the football team, the basketball team
Now all we got is me to represent New Orleans
No Governor, no help from the Mayor
Just a steady beatin heart and a wish and a prayer"

"And if you come from under the water then there's fresh air
Just breathe baby, Gods got a blessing to spare
Yes, I know the process has so much stress
But its the progress that fills the best
Cause I came from the projects straight to success
And your next, so try they can't steal your pride it's inside
Then find it and keep on grinding
Cause in every dark cloud theres a silver lining
I know..."

My favorite verses from The Carter III, this is why Wayne is on top of the rap game

My least favorite song is Playing With Fire. He gets really repetitive and of all words to use.... yeah.

But Wayne is a beast. And people who don't listen to rap look at this like his performances like "wtf?" This isn't music. But if you listen to his actual music that his fans do, he is another breed of rapper that doesn't define him as just a rapper. He is a poet. Someone who speaks from the heart. And is one of the first rappers to do so since 2pac.

Playing with fire is probably my favorite song on the C3. There are so many sick lines:

Mama always told me I was crazy
My hoes say I'm amazin but I don't listen 2 a lady
But the b**ch say I'm hot and I say no b**ch I'm blazin
Like wat the f*** u expect I'm a muthaf**kin cajun

Osch be gasch posh spice husband
Could'nt kick it like I kick it b**ch I kicks it
^^ Talking about the spice girl that married David Beckham

They say you're nobody til somebody kills you
But where I'm from you're nobody til you kill somebody
And you kno what they say
When you're great it's not murder it's assinate
So assinate me b**ch
Cause I'm doin the same s*it martin luther king did
Checkin in the same hotel in the same suite b**ch same balcony
Like assinate me b**ch

Straight off the corner Apple and Eagle
Brave hard b**ch like the times I'm medieval
Married to the game, Divorce the Cathedral
Standin on the corner selling Porcelean to People
Forced into evil, It's all in your head
It's also cerebral, call me Canival
You follow when I lead you
Straight to the needle
The barrel, the battle, the beetles will eat you
Mama named Cita, I love You Cita
Member when your p**sy Second husband tried to beat ya
Remember when I went into the kitchen got the cleever
He ain't give a f*** I ain't give a f*** neither
He could see the devil, see the devil in my features

You could smell the ether
You can see Cita
You can see the Cita, see the Seether in my features
And she don't play neither

But you can't blame me if I set dis stage on fire
C3 3 peat

I mean he raps about killing his stepdad. Thats real.

Rasputin, could you give me a list of Lupe songs that are good?
Hip Hop saved My life, Kick Push, Paris/Tokyo and Dumb It Down... Personally, I prefer Talib Kweli or Mos Def over Lupe, but even with that, his flow is tight. He's just not in my top 10.

Playing with fire has a hot hook and beat. Don't get me wrong his lyrics were sick but the constant reapeating of p***y got old by the 2nd time I listened to it.
