Lil Jon?

It would be awesome if he gave TN credit for being the original "Third Down for What" on the Jumbotron, calling out the other pretenders as copy cats.......

Sorry, but I'm not going to debate this. I'm not attacking him as I have nothing against him. I am just not convicned I want the "thuggery"image associated with my UT :hi:

You don't want a successful businessman from a minority ethnicity, with a college degree, who youth look up to as a role model associated with 'your' university.

Makes sense.

I'm not refering to the tats and dreds.. those don't bother me. I'm talking about what he allows himself to be associated with that gives him the "thug" vibe. Sure I don't know him personally and I'm sure he and I could have a good conversation, but he has crafted himself an image that thugs appeal to

He's just crafted himself an image that makes him a ridiculous amount of money. He has adapted himself to a market and has the intuition and business savviness to know what is going to sell to the youth of this country. Very intelligent IMO. If he can bring some positive energy to the program and it helps out with recruiting in some way then......OOOOKAAYYYYYYY!

Oh, I see what you're getting at. So, sorry, but I'm not sure I want to debate how Uncle Joe Bob from down in the hollar who calls in to National Televised programs or radio shows talking about, "Hell yaew, ifn Butch Jones caint git er dun and win the SEC nixt yeer ima thinkin we need to fahr eem un go aftur one uh them other fellars." I just don't know that I want Redneck Hillbilly image associated with my UT.

You see how that works?

I would almost guarantee he would just make video/cameo for jumbotron.

Probably 5 segments.

1. Do what?!!! 3rd down....
2. Let me here ya vol nation! 3rd down...
3. Let's get crunk!! 3rd down...
4. Let's do this Vols!! 3rd down..
5. Make it loud! 3rd down...

Guys, I do NOT care that he is college educated. I am too. I do NOT care that his a minority. I have an interacial family. I am GLAD he's a good businessman.

I do care that his lyrics are vulgar, disgusting, and degrading. You can't defend that he made his money by being "thugish".

I'm not a redneck hillbilly and you shouldn't assume that. Those type of people you sterotype should educate themselves out of ignorance...

I digress.. :hi:

Yeah what a role model. Rapping about drinking, partying, violence, negative connotations about women. Lyrics calling women hoes and bi!ches, calling people fa**ots. Walking around with a "pimp" cup, acting like pimping is cool and something that should be celebrated.

So we should be excited about someone like this? As opposed to a Jason Witten or Peyton Manning, guys who actually deserve the designation as role models? Guys like Lil Jon and Snoop whatever are not the type of people we need associated with UT.

If he is at the game. That will be significant in recruiting. Especially with the big time recruits coming this weekend. A thug is Aron Hernandez, not lil jon.

Thuggish behavior? Party behavior i suppose, he's never done anything "thuggish" Robbing, selling drugs, killing=thuggish behavior. Partying, cussing and drinking is not thuggish behavior.

I don't think I can be friends with some of the people on here. Everybody is different and has different tastes. Why can't Lil Jon AND Peyton represent our school? What's wrong with diversity? Lil Jon never robbed anybody.

It's 2014, y'all.

The beauty of it is we can all have different opinions.

Dam, so lil Jon is trying to copy CBJ new theme song that we play at the stadium, CBJ should make him royalties every time he sings our song.

Lil Jon is not a thug. He barely actually raps in the songs he's in. Most of the time he says "What, Yeah, and Okay!" Now, if Chief Keef were coming to Neyland, then we would have a thug on our hands.
