Anyone else hear that and think of the bamboo statement by Dooley? I hope were not headed down a similar path. I think Jones realized Saturday his slogans will only last so long it's time to put up or shut up. We gotta win these close games. Our D is awesome but the O is sketchy at best

So maybe Butch should stop building with bricks and switch to bamboo? :)

We have known all along that this would be a race between the impatient unrealistic horde and the those who understand where the program was and what would be required to right the ship. We still do not know who will win. The specter of firing Jones and resetting back to the starting line is always a possibility. We are 7 years into this fiasco, no reason we won't extend it even longer by getting rid of what has offered the best hope for a solution so far.

Razing kids or raising kids? A little context or a quote would be useful for those of us who have no idea what you are talking. We didn't all hear/read the same thing you did.

He's raising a program/ compared to raising kids. A lot of moving parts. He is no Dooley!

I edited Jones's closing statement in another thread...

"I know everyone hurts. I know Vol Nation hurts, but I do want to thank the fans and the fan initiative. The Checkerboard Neyland was outstanding. I think it was a great illustration. Around the country, just keep your patience. We're going to find Rommel. I've told you before, it's like watering bamboo. We're watering a bamboo garden and I'm just as patient as anyone. I'm angered and I'm upset, but I'm not discouraged because I see the progress everyday. You guys need to hang in there. We're in it together. We're going to shower together. We're going to have great days, but we just got to keep washing. I want to say thank you for coming out. We're going to need Rommel next week. I promise you we're going get Rommel. We had a tremendous amount of Germans out here today---why wouldn't Rommel want to come to the University of Tennessee after that? We'll be back. I promise you we're going to be a good football team. Butch did'nt graduate from UVA as a lawyer so I trust what he say's a heck of lot more than what Dooley said. And Dooley did'nt know what the heck he was talking about most of the time anyway. He just thought he did.

He might be on the hot seat next year in the minds of the vocal minority on VN but those who make such decisions see things differently.

Unfortunately, the impatient, unrealistic horde seems to be the majority. Any fool can see he took over a dumpster fire. The 2013 class does'nt even count for Butch AFAIC because of when he was hired, even though a handful of good players came out of that class some of which he or his coaches recruited. 2014 was his first real class. So he has ONE class of his own yet we have morons thinking he should be winning SEC titles this year? And Ken-tuck winning against SC? So what? We did that last year and may again this year. What the heck else has Kentucky done? Nothing. For those that ride the short bus, Kentucky and Stoops are 4-1 because they've played Tn Martin, Ohio, Vandy and SC. Our OOC teams would whip the sh*t out of theirs on a bad day, and oh, we've played Okl and GA to. We both lost to FL but we lost 10-9 while they lost 36-30. Get real folks!
