I’m upset and angry after seeing the worst team in Tennessee history, but I’m having trouble seeing any light at the end of this tunnel.
I also know we have to be patient, but it’s embarrassing watching this so called team attempt to play the game of football ???

Defensively, it was actually a little better than I was afraid it might be. Florida didn't drive the field a lot and we got after the QB a little bit.

Volnation, we really just have to forget about yesterday. I wish it wasn't against the Gators but the way that first interception happened I knew the footballs gods were going to have fun with us yesterday. And they did. I can only assume Kiffin sacrificed some virgin coeds while here and were still paying for it.

I am seeing the orange shoots of recovery though. I don't think coaching is the problem. It might be the only thing keeping us fielding a football team. I think we are starting to line-up and look like we want to play SEC football again. I see systems being installed that will work in future. Right now the problem is Botch killed the love of the game for most of these young men. That's what I'm seeing. Dobbs and Barnett were leaders and the only ones we've had for a decade. They literally carried the team to 9 wins. I don't know how Pruitt can fix it but we'll only know if he can next year.

I don't know if Pruitt is the real deal but despite everything yesterday, I still see positive things and almost all of it coaching. He needs to show this recruiting cycle he has elite recruiting staff and skills. It's cliche I know but Botch left a lingering contagion on this team. He simply killed the fun for these young men. Recruiting might be the only way Pruitt can fix that.

Let's see if CJP can pull a major upset over the next month and let's see if he can recruit against the best in the SEC. It's going to be another long year but I think there are positives. Let's hang in there.

I dont see any yet either. In fact, many of us said we'd know what we have for coaches and players after UF. Makes me very concerned about our program.

There is always a light at the end. Just sometimes the tunnel is long. Very long.

Anyine know how many years on on the typical head coaches contract in the SEC?? Asking for a friend....

I would love to know what the recruits at the game are thinking

My guess...

"Wish Lane K and the Vollettes were recruiting me"
"I'm glad I didnt have to pay for my ticket"
"Fingers crossed Alabbama offers. Or Georgia. Or LSU. Or Auburn...etc."
" Dang, these Tennessee fans sure are faithful"

Stuff like that would be my guess

4 or 5 years to get out of this mess. Let Pruitt bring in his guys and build the team properly. Lots of immediate playing time available to draw in some blue chippers.

Of course, if the coaching seems to be questionable along the way then you address it.

Exactly who did you buy your mushrooms from yesterday? Can you give him my number?

agreed.
if we hadn't of gift wrapped 23 points for them in the 1st qtr, i think the defenese may have had a fighting chance.

but on offense....we suck. i don't think it matters who the qb is (though i still think JG holds the ball too long and still has some trouble on pre snap reads) given the O line play. i mean, you're facing 8 or 9 man boxes, and defenses can flat tee off on our qb.

it's just not hard to game plan gainst our offense. and now that we have that gem on film, i would expect every defense we face to do similar things. and i don't think we have any answers for it.

Same here. I'm going to enjoy my family and other things. I can watch us get massacred, but doing it for 10 years now, but I am not going to watch a bunch of poorly coached, undisciplined kids, who don't care. I have better things to do with my time. Last night was an absolutle shi* show and embarrassment. That was a bad Florida team who boat raced us in Neyland.

JG may hold it too long sometimes, but at this point he's got to have no expectation that there will be a pocket when he drops back. I've never seen an o-line this bad.

yeah, i said as much when he dove out of bounds for that 1st down and there wasn't anyone w/in 3 yards of him. i just laughed and said "he's seeing ghosts".

The light for me would be finding out that Helton was being replaced with a real OC. I’ve had doubts before the season started, but now believe he is the coach who desperately needs replacing. The offense has not looked good at all through 4 games. Give us a good OC and this would be a different team.

We'll need almost a complete total coaching change on the offensive side of the ball. I like what the WR's are doing so they seem improved even with the bad TE play that cost us seven. OL we'll have to make a change we shouldn't be this inept most of these guys were good high school players no reason to be as bad as they are. We'll need a change here if we don't see 100 percent improvement which seems unlikely. OC and QB coach need a change not ready for the SEC. I think if we could get a competent OL coach and OC we might be able to compete. Six turnovers on bad blocking, unable to snap the ball and terrible QB decisions really sum up what happened last night.
You have to come up with a plan to protect the QB when your OL can't block or call plays that don't take so long to develop. Some turnover on the OL coach and players others on the QB and OC overall these are the areas where we are terrible.
This is where I expect Pruitt to put all emphasis in the next four losing weeks. If he can't get these areas corrected then he is not a competent head coach.

Agree! This is what you get with a OC that's never been an OC before. He has no clue how to call Plays. We are sooooo predictable on offense. Also, Jeremy Banks should be our starting RB. He's the only one that can run through people and with our O line, you have to be able to break tackles in our own backfield.
