Liberty Bowl: "Tennessee is the Team We Want"

Much to the dismay of a few hillbillies on here, if the Liberty Bowl is the destination, it will be a sellout, and there will be no shortage of West TN Vols and other Vols willing to travel and fill up the stadium.

I like Memphis, but now someone can't dislike the city without being a hillbilly? Interesting.

I love Memphis, The wife and I go often and if this game was on a Fri night or Saturday we would be there. But with the start time I'll be lucky to see it

I love it too. I'm probably biased since I was born and raised there but I love it. I moved away for college and now a job but I'll be moving back there as soon as I can. The city has so much to offer. Most of which has already been mentioned but I'll add the zoo and St.Jude to the list. Both are world class. And don't even get me started on the Grizz games! Best entertainment bang for your buck in Memphis. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a deep run for them this year.

Plus some great year round golf, and the FESJC in June. A great PGA event. Yes, Memphis has bad, but the good out weighs it by a lot imo

Serious question- how do you people claim to be "all Tennessee" and expect in-state kids to play for "our" university, when you constantly talk @#$# about a quarter of the population?
West TN has always been the Red Headed Stepchild of the state. Memphis has its issues sure but it also has some the best Food, Music, and People in the US.

I was born and lived there for 28 years and never had a problem either. All the Memphis hate on here pisses me off sometimes.

Me and a group of coworkers went to Club 152 on Beale last year while in town for a conference and we stuck out like a sore thumb in more ways than one. Not one single problem and we were actually welcomed pretty well, considering the circumstances. Don't act like an idiot and people will leave you alone.

OK State may have thrown a monkey wrench into things. They're now bowl eligible and I'm hearing instead of TN-WVA it could be TN-Ok St. Also hear the Liberty could take Oklahoma and to avoid a rematch vs TN they'd face Arkansas which would likely move TN to Music City.

JT's hometown

Yep! We're about the same age but went to different elementary schools. Had he hung around we wouldve went to Millington High School together. I got to meet him once at a mutual friends party. He's the coolest, most down to earth guy you'll ever meet. And, I love how he reps his roots.

He's very proud of his roots, No doubt

I would have no problem playing the cows from little ut in the Liberty Bowl. I think we could hogtie em up and roast them on a spit. Fresh beef barbecue Memphis style.

All you people scared of W. Virginia remind me of what everybody thought about the matchup with Miami in the '85 Sugar Bowl. Tennessee didn't have a chance against the mighty Canes in New Orleans. Then the Vols showed up and stomped the holy piss outta them Canes and everybody but me was going what the hell just happened.

Johnny Majors finest moment..those were good times..
