Liberty Bowl: "Tennessee is the Team We Want"

I can guarantee that UT will sell it's allotment for the Liberty Bowl and many others will buy from the WVU allotment, assuming that's our opponent. It will be very much like the Music City Bowl in 2010.

Not sure we matchup well with W.VA. Their offense is a beast and don't like our chances of stopping them and no way we win a shootout with them. They gave OU and Ala all they wanted and if not for so many dropped pàsses they beat Ala..

All you people scared of W. Virginia remind me of what everybody thought about the matchup with Miami in the '85 Sugar Bowl. Tennessee didn't have a chance against the mighty Canes in New Orleans. Then the Vols showed up and stomped the holy piss outta them Canes and everybody but me was going what the hell just happened.

Liberty Bowl is a great spot. There is a huge base of Vols fans in west Tennessee and more importantly, we are starting to lose recruits in the west part of the state to Ole Miss.

Had friends say they saw things but I went through more than a few times at night and the scariest thing I ever saw was some mange covered dogs.

Sort of a bowl question but not directly. Has there been any more development in the AJ case? I haven't seen or read anything lately. Would love to see him cleared and ready to play in the bowl.

Liberty Bowl against WVU would be a horrible destination, against an opponent that would likely beat us rather handily. WVU is the one team I don't want to play in the Bowl.

I agree.

And WVU has some of the most delusional fans this side of Vandy in terms of their actual significance in the college football landscape IMO.

That being said, that would not be a good match up at all.

White would probably be the most talented receiver we face since Cooper.

Their 3-3-5 would probably give the offense fits. The O line still doesn't know who to block when they pull on a play 14 weeks into a season. They wouldn't have a clue who is coming at them here.

If it was 1985 and this team had that defense, I might agree.

As it stands, a PR TD by Sutton was the difference between having this discussion and not.

My best friend told me after Miami went downfield to a 7-0 lead that was the last points they'd score. I thought he was crazy. UT over Miami-35-7.

I remember watching that game like it was last week. I didn't think the Vols would hold them scoreless the rest of the game but I also never became worried they would lose the game. My favorite memory was somebody mentioning Vinny Testaverde would probably win the hypesman trophy and my response was that sounds like a porn stars name. liltz.

My entire point that apparently went over your head is that nobody can know who will win a game that hasn't been played yet and a Volunteer isn't scared of any foe, anytime, anywhere.

Memphis is a great place to visit. Great food, bars, ladies and music. After a few days Memphis is great in the rear view mirror.
Bet before I go I get some Central BBQ!

Great place to get robbed and car vandalized. Just speaking from personal experience.

On a serious note, where and when did this occur? Your experience could happen in any city in the country at any time. Hope nobody was hurt.
