This isnt the NFL, writing these types of articles about 18-22 young men college players comes off as immature and classless.

Hes not a freshman QB that just showed up to campus, he is the face of Tennessee as a team and the state. He needs to show up and learn from his mistakes. Not make the same ones game in and game out.

Doesn't matter if it is true or not, it is tactless to say the least.

some times people are motivated by things like this or shrink away. let's see what Tyler does, come up big or continue like he is.

OMGod! Had to skim last half. He must read posts often on this site. Trying to get negavol readers but failed grossly. Good lord has everything associated with Tenn gone to s..t? Recruits are scratching their heads. Great campus, awful fan base. Weird wiedmer. Just weird.

What a shame. Why the Chattanooga Times is paying this guy as a journalist I'll never know. I will not read a single thing he writes from now on.

A Letter to Mark Weidmer

Journalists are supposed to be able to put their personal opinions aside and write objectively. You sound like a VolNation poster. And they work for free.

Should have never been a letter. The first amendment doesn't account for stupidity, sometimes one shouldn't exercise it. This is one of those times.

I imagine your biggest mistake Saturday night was turning it to Seinfeld half-way through the second quarter and missing the "first" come-back. lol

He's a college kid trying his best to win against more talented teams. Cut him some slack.

Let's see. How would I change the letter. I would start by NOT DOING IT AT ALL!

Seriously. What did putting this letter out there for the world to see accomplish? Other than pissing a lot of fans off and making himself look like a self indulgent fool, it accomplishes nothing.

Reminds me of watching reality tv. Our lives are so screwed up what can we do to make things better? I know, let's go on tv, so the whole world can see how effed up we are. That will fix it.

I'm really surprised by many of you in this thread...

I read the article last night, and while I didn't think it was particularly well written and seemed more like a blog you'd find on BR, I certainly don't have a problem with it, think its classless, etc.

I applaud the writer for putting in the newspaper what everyone else says on the internet. If your job is to sell papers, articles like this are what you desire.

I liked the part about ZRo playing in the league. I almost thought he was being serious for a minute...

I wouldn't have as big of a problem with the letter if Weidmer hadn't been the one to write it. I try to read his articles in the Times Free Press every Saturday or Sunday and they always seem to come across that he hates Tenn and anything to do with them. Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with media giving critizism when due but I think it's completely tasteless to call out a college kid in that manner.

Really? I've never met TB, but I would like to think he realizes how good/bad he is and what he/his coaches need to do to fix it. A letter from the media...awesome use of journalism. Kinda feel bad for the kid. A lot of criticism comes with being our QB I guess

Worst sports article I have ever read. That guy has no business writing about sports for a newspaper.

so if someone has a different opinion then yours, they're wrong? someone has a high opinion of them self. it's one man's opinion, he's in titled. P.S. he's paid for his, are you?

Open Letter to Mark Weidmer

Dear Mark,

Bray is a a kid who isn't getting a penny and being told 1000 times a day what to do by someone being paid millions. Write a letter to Coach Dooley and quit calling out our players.
