Per email:

Dear Tennessee fans,

I hope this note finds you well and excited about the future of Tennessee Football.

As we kick-off our first spring practice with the Tennessee family, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the opportunity you have given us. Tennessee has a storied tradition of great players and great teams. Our staff will do everything in our power to continue the great tradition and foundation that was built before us. We are very excited about the opportunity we have here, and we hope you are too.

I want our fans to be an active part of the program. Your energy and enthusiasm are two of the things that make Tennessee great. That being said, I hope you will join us for our first practice in pads on Friday, March 13th in Neyland Stadium at 7 p.m. This will give you a chance to come see what’s in store for Tennessee football. Due to construction, we will cap admittance at 10,000 fans. You can enter from gates 1, 2 or 3.

There are several events on campus Friday, including our SEC baseball opener at Lindsey Nelson at 7 p.m. and an event at the arena, so all parking on campus will be paid. The most convenient parking will be in the G-10 garage or 11th Street garage and come around the back of the hill.

I also want to encourage you to come out for the Orange and White Game on April 18th at 3 p.m. Because of stadium improvements currently underway, space will be limited for the Orange and White game so I encourage you to order online at utsports.com today.

I hope to see you in Neyland soon!

Go Vols!

Head Coach

10,000 fans?? You've got to be kidding me. Remember a couple years ago when 70,000 or so showed up for Saban's first spring game?

There are gonna be some upset people in Knoxville.

PTI-style toss up: Which event will have more UT fans present on Friday night? The open football practice or the the first game of the SEC tournament for the Vols in Tampa?

sheer numbers available around either venue make this a Wilbon style no brainer...

Now give the people something to watch tonight Tid...

I'll be in Tampa, but to me, watching a live UT basketball game on TV trumps attending a football practice. I suppose one could record the basketball game and attend the practice though. That would be acceptable.

Yep. I'd like to attend both, but if I had my druthers I'd go with the actual game every time.

I don't know why, but that nut makes me laugh....
Dittos. Even though I don't agree with his or Wilbon's opinion a lot, I still watch just for the humor factor.

Kind of like Inside the NBA on TNT with Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley. They don't even talk about basketball half the time, but it's still entertaining to watch.

The question will be will there be 10,000 or more at the SEC Tournament being that its in Tampa and no where near an SEC school other than the Gators which I think is still a an hour so away.
