I'd rather think of players that over achieved in the true spirit of our Volunteers with it being game week.

Keep it to the last 10-12 years or so.

1. Al Wilson (don't recall if he was highly touted)
2. Rick Clausen
3. Joey Kent
4. Travis Stephens (He was amazing during the 2001 season)
5. Scott Wells (again, don't recall if he was highly recruited)

Not true...he had good numbers against both Vandy and Kentucky and was even offensive player of the week for his performance versus Kentucky.

If I remember correctly, James "Little Man" Stewart wasnt highly touted coming out of high school. No. 33 was a beast!

McClesky
Fred White
Tony Thompson didn't make you forget Webb but he did very well
Greg Amsler seemed to make more plays than one might think he would
Faulkner & Casey Clausen got the most out of what they had
Bates made a career of seemingly playing above his talent
Daryl Dickey maybe?

Andy Kelly

I LOVED Cedric Houston! He might not have been the most naturally talented RB at Tennessee but he looked like he went 100% full speed on every play! It was a pleasure watching him run the ball!
