Man, I have been reading some post on here that are just getting gradually worse. We went from I think we have a chance after Cincy to saying we definitely and should beat Florida. Remember, we have a 6 game losing streak to them, and they are still alot more talented than we are. You know how Kentucky fans have been saying the past couple of years that this was the year to beat Tennessee and we just kind of laugh it off? We sound like the Kentucky fans now. I THINK we can win. I HOPE we can win. I know Bray, Rogers, and Hunter can cause some huge matchup problems for them, but let's slow down a bit before predicting a beat down in the swamp. Keep it in perspective. GO VOLS!!!!

People saying we should beat UF are in for a rude awakening during October.

This isn't last years team or the year before or the year before, etc....this is a different team. A team full of young talent, confidence and chemistry. Combine that with good coaching and there is definitely reason for optimism this Saturday.

We all know it's UF, in Gainesville and they are loaded with talent. But they have just as many problems and question marks as UT does, maybe more. We're going to find out a lot about UF, UT and the SEC East this Saturday.

Exactly. Our team is much improved and looks much better than last year, but we have to remember at this point we are still an 8-4/7-5 team. I would hate for our fan base to get so high that one loss has them calling for Dooley's head, but it will inevitably happen.

By the way, I am CAUTIOUSLY calling the upset this weekend, but I also understand that if we lose, it's not the end of the world.

FYP.

Bray is good, but all the Bray>Manning talk is getting a little out of hand.
Yeah way too early. Even goofy ass Clay Travis is already talking about him leaving after next year. It's crazy how people jump the gun anymore. He has a ton to prove and people really do need to "pump the brakes a little".

why do you care how others choose to get up for the game? I'm more excited about this UF game than I have been in a long time. I'm not predicting a 4 td win but who cares if someone does?

I gotta say that I agree with the OP. I'm excited, hopeful, stoked, pumped, etc. But... we're a young team with some weak spots (some are glaring). Would I be surprised if we beat Florida? A little. Would I be surprised if FL beat us? Not in the least. Hard to say, but it's just the way it is.

Good thing this game is on 09-17-11 then, not 10-17-11.

I think what he's getting at is that UF isn't our biggest threat, but to those that think we are above UF's talent level, they will be rudely awakened when we play Bama, LSU, Arky, etc.

I also don't mind other fans predicting UT to dominate, but I sure hope that if these hyped expectations don't get met, fingers aren't quickly pointed at CDD. That would suck.

Because that same someone is mindless Tennessee fan who will also call for Dooley's head if we lose, and probably citing a loss to an inferior Florida team, which would be crazy. I am more jacked up for this Florida game than I have been in a long time, but I'm keeping things in perspective. First game for alot of freshman in one the the hardest places to play, first real test for Bray and co., and at the same time first real test for Florida. Let's just enjoy the ride up and come off the kool-aid high.

Uh, if you plan on UT being an 8-4/7-5 team, you better be planning on a W this weekend in Gainesville.

Haven't been more excited for the Gators game since 1998. If being this excited for Bray and company is setting myself up for disappointment, well, that's fine by me. As long as it's been since we've had a reason to be excited about the team, it's time to capitalize on that opportunity!

Here's to Bray bringing home a win for the first time outside the state of Tennessee this week.

My mistake, I know those will be tough games and losses. But I will still say we can win I'm hard headed like that.

I'm with ya on this one. I didn't post it but thought we sounded like Kentucky fans when I was reading through some of the posts yesterday.

It is true however...this season is our best chance in quite a while...sure wished it was in Neyland.

I am. You should read the whole thread first. But, I won't jump off a cliff or start a fire Dooley chant if we lose like some of our  fan base will.

Can't we wait to worry about those guys? All that matters right now is Florida and the 9 TDs Bray has to throw on Saturday to meet my expectations.

Sounds like you are afraid of eating crow. Optimism is a good thing...a powerful thing. It wins football games. "I BELIEVE" was a motto that worked for us in the past. Fulmer didn't say "I THINK WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO." I have a feeling that that would not have been quit as affective. Just have fun and relish the fact that for the first time in a long time...we DO actually have a real shot.

GO VOLS!
