Oops. SOD, VP and others inadvertently included a journalist in a group chat on military plans for Yemen. What’s more, this was possible because they were using the commercial app, Signal. Free pass. They’re Trump’s guys.

Hilary used a private email server for some exchanges of classified information. “Lock her up!”

Yeah, no dissonance here…

Honestly, I want less arrogance and more care on task. Stop effing up, fellas.

I like that my friends and I have better security protocols for our group chats about our debauchery-filled boys' weekend trips than Trump's cabinet has over national security. The sheer incompetence is hilarious.

Now do it the other way.

Hillary housed a secret email server with classified information and then it somehow got bleach-bit wiped. Dems defended her. Trump's guys use Signal and invite the wrong guy in and get pages of grief.

How about everyone stop playing "Favorite Party" and start calling spades spades. Both sides count on getting passes from their beloveds.

Maybe you’re a Trumpanaught, maybe you’re not, but you are missing the key point. DOD policy specifically prohibits use of Signal (cited by name as an example) or other commercial apps for discussion of military matters. Everyone should expect higher performance from Trump’s appointees. Performance on task, not posturing. These are the servants of the people right now. They need to do it right, even more so when the Commander in Chief made such a big deal about his opponent’s behavior in the 2016 election.

Maybe you're missing the point. You want to infer that one team is treating this hypocritically without subjecting the other team to the same test. You seem to be participating in a similar hypocrisy that your asserting in others. You could start by cleaning your own yard, which is actually the only yard you can control.

FTR, I'm on record in this threat saying it was stupid and a terrible look. May even lead to a firing.

Agreed - but at the same time one side is currently in charge and should naturally be the focus. I’ve never put much stock in the whataboutism.

If its wrong it’s wrong, Hillary etc included, but Hillary etc isn’t currently in charge. You’re not doing it obviously, but whataboutism retorts are tacit admission “your guys” F’d up but don’t want to talk about it.

Agreed.

I just find it odd when someone posts accusations of hypocrisy, mentioning the historic acts by one's own team to build the whataboutism, then refusing to look at the reverse direction you just created. Thinking one is baking a "Ya'll are doojes" cake, they bake a "Us Too" cake without knowing it.

If everyone could just stop giving their team passes, things might improve with overall higher standards and expectations. Also, if each side would stop fabricating accusations, maybe we would not be immunized against real accusations.

Now I'm curious if Trump is going to try to claim it was classified and arrest Goldberg or just sit with egg on his face. The Trump admin's plan to just lie under oath in the face of this controversy is creating quite the pickle.

eh, these types of deployments have been news for a long time. kinda hard to keep an "elephant walk" like this secret, anyone can watch a base to see who is leaving or arriving.
