Let's Talk About Sin

Shows you know nothing. Christianity is not a religion. It's a relationship that you have with God through Christ the risen Lord. You're given a chance to be reconciled back with the Creator God since the separation of sin caused by man's pride.

Christianity is now apparently not a religion. This is what it has come to.

It's not really a problem for Christianity. It's a problem for people that don't want to entertain the idea that sinners deserve to go to hell. Paul dealt with it in Romans. He said that the law accuses those with the law, and the innate law within everyone (their conscience) accuse everyone without the law. Every adult that has ever died has died knowing that they failed a standard of good/bad. (Well, maybe not every adult. There are those without such mental capacity. That's why we have an insanity plea, for the defective humans that do not have a sense of the 'law'.)

That means that the gospel (good news) is a message of grace/mercy-- i.e. getting what you don't deserve, and not getting what you do deserve.

So, people who have never heard the gospel is not a 'problem' for Christianity. It's just a problem for people who don't like how God does things.

I've got no problem with the concepts of sin or Hell….just how we on earth arrive at who and what puts them there.

It's funny that when I interact with you directly in debate, you shut up and run to your cage, but you are free to toss out unsupported generalities.

You are a sad, sad, sad individual.

Funny that you should use that term.

It is simply a series of true statements that involves sexual privileges with a deity. Or at least that's my understanding of their talk about relationships and truth statements.

Anyone else in need of a shovel?

If you're god were to exist, I would still not follow him because I consider his decision making (primarily in terms of salvation and condemnation) to be absurd!

This has been my argument from the beginning, and was stated earlier.

Ok. We get it. You've made your point no matter how wrong you are.

Christianity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christianity - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Christianity: definition of Christianity in Oxford dictionary - American English (US)

Christianity - Definition of Christianity

All of these define it as a religion, so I guess they're all godless know nothings.

Yep. Shows you can't believe everything in print. Heck, you guys don't believe what's written down in scripture of the Bible.

I might one day, when proof and faith finally reach an impasse. I'm not against the concept. I just need more than you. I'm not that easy.

The content of this thread only shows how ridiculous people are on both sides of the isle. Platitudes, ad-hominems, quips, baseless rhetoric. A complete and utter waste of time. Might as well talk to a fence post. It would be more productive.

Please use your brain. Is god fair and just? If so, how do you rationalize the fact that good people go to hell if they don't worship god, yet killers and rapists get a free pass if they "convert" in prison?

Good people go to Hell. Hmm, as a Bible teacher I cannot remember where the Bible states such. Can you help me out here?

In order to enter the kingdom of heaven, one must accept Christ as their savior.

So, yes, if being a 'good person' must entail accepting Christ, then Percy is wrong.
