Let's Talk About Sin

No one has ever been forgiven by saying "I am sorry" forgiveness only come with true repentance...

repentance means to make a complete turn around.... most people will not do this, they simply try to keep doing what they have always done and only say, as you have implied I'm sorry

That **** went right over his head ... He's probably still confounded on how he's going to attain absolution .

Choosing not to believe in god, in other words, exercising "free will", will get you a one way ticket to Hell.

Meanwhile, murdering and raping a kid will get you to heaven as long as you say you're sorry.

Seems logical.

I look at it like this. Everyone is outside the city that God lives in. If you want to come inside and live you have some simple rules you must follow to get in.

1) admit that you have done wrong in the eyes of God
2) accept that Jesus paid for your wrong doings (nobody gets in without payment)
3) do your best not to sin anymore (repent)

There are many Christians who believe that everyone will be judged by God in the end for what they've done both good and bad. The difference being that there is no condemnation (being left outside) for those who trust in Christ.

As you have said with free will it's up to each person to decide for themselves. I believe to many going to Heaven would be Hell. IMO God does not seek slaves he seeks fellowship with children. imo that is the reason we were created, So we can choose......but that's a different thread alltogeather.

So Ghandi goes to hell because he was born in the wrong country.

Pedophiles and mass murders go to heaven, as long as they repent?

What kinda ####ed up god are you boys worshipping?

I keep waiting for Pascals Wager to be brought up by the defenders of Christianity when they finally run out of defenses.

I honestly believe if most Christians (or people of other faith for that matter that are exposed and understand science) are honest with themselves, they gain/keep their faith with some version of Pascal's Wager mixed with what I call "ethereal hope" not only to see loved ones again but either rid themselves of guilt (if they have done really bad deeds), be rewarded for good deeds when they haven't here on Earth, or hope that the Evil people here on Earth get punished for their bad deeds.

I love the hypocrisy in non believers who throw out the "oh, I just have to pretend I'm sorry defense to get into heaven" as if that's really how it works. Then they talk about how believers can't come up with a good defense of their beliefs. I've never figured out if they really are that stupid to think that's how it works, or they just flat out can't come up with a better argument so they throw that barb out there hoping it will stick and make believers quiet down.

There is only one (logical) reason non-believers would spend this much time and effort discussing something they don't believe in. Whether they choose to admit it or not, there must be a small concern or doubt that they are wrong and will perhaps miss out on the greatest gift of all time... and thus they feel better about themselves if they can garner support for their beliefs that God does not exist.

I pray you keep questioning till one day you get the "proof" you seek and choose to join God's team. He won't recruit you unfairly (free will and all), but he'll also never turn you away just because others accepted first. :hi:

I just want to know if Ghandi went to hell for being born into the wrong religion.

"Faith of a Child" really stumps them.

There are passages and other writings that talk about how someone must have been introduced into the religion and kids must reach an "age of understanding". Your decision to refute and refuse the teachings are what will keep you from entering the Kingdom of Heaven.

An agnostic is simply an atheist without balls. Religion is the biggest bunch of garbage ever.

Most of your older religions had a god for everything. Because they were to ignorant to answer most questions they encountered. "Why can some women have babies and others not?" They must have angered the fertility god. "Why is the sea so angry today?" We better make a sacrifice to Poseidon.

Now the only thing left to explain is creation. So we're left with god the creator. I refuse to believe in a god based on ignorance alone.

So if know one ever told Ghandi about god, then he would be safe?

You are bringing the heat this morning!

I like it

I swear, I've never heard of an atheist like him ask questions about God in a religion thread to learn at least something good for him & get straight forward honest answers that are given to him to understand & he still acts like the biggest dummy atheist that lives in the world w/a one track mindset. He's an embarrassment for all atheist in the world.
