How do you know this? Have you spoken to one? Have you even seen one? Has it even written down a code of ethics for you to live by? If so, I'd like to see it for myself dude. Point me to that. So, what's there to keep you from killing babies & from baby rape Einstein? You have no moral code that you adhere to....being that you have unbelief in a higher authority. You have no moral code to live by. You're nothing but a waste of air.
I figured as much. I guess it's easier for some to go through life content with never questioning the answers.
I pity you.
I have never understood why atheists have such a problem with people believing in God. What is the big deal? I believe in God, why does that mean I don't question the answers? What is wrong with the belief in a supreme being that created all life and everything in the universe?
If believing in and loving God who continues to bless me and my family draws pity from you, then by all means please pity me to your hearts content.
Are you sure your issue isn't fear?
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Romans 8:38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from Gods love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrownot even the powers of hell can separate us from Gods love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth belowindeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So you believe that no Christian in the world has fear of what happen if they were to turn their backs on god?
I did not say that. You seem to be inferring that Christians accept and live our worldview out of fear and compulsion. I am merely saying that is not what our worldview calls us to do. I can't vouch for every Christian in the world, but if a Christian says they do not live out their faith in fear and trembling, I believe them because that is exactly what our faith tells us to do -- live it out through relationship as a response to unmerited love and grace.
Now, I am sure that there is also a measure of fear concerning what would happen if they turned their back on their faith. I'm not sure what point you are trying to prove with that line of argument. Can you key me in on it with specific critiques? I would be happy to interact.
I love my wife more than I can ever say. I am convinced that she returns that love completely. I would never cheat on her because I love her and I would never want to hurt her, nor damage our relationship. There is the added concern that if I ever did cheat on her, I would lose everything that is most important to me.
Does that fear invalidate her as a person? Does that fear invalidate the relationship we have? Is that fear the primary reason that I treat her well and remain faithful? Is that fear the reason that I make coffee for her in the morning, taker her to dinner, or tell her how beautiful she is?
No.
They accept your world view through indoctrination. It is fear that keeps them from questioning it.
Whatever floats your boat, man. :hi:
Edit:
I am the fly in your ointment. I do not live by fear, and I questioned pretty much every facet of my faith. How do you think I became studied enough to answer your questions in here? Do you think it was because I questioned?
But again... Whatever floats your boat. You seem almost all-knowing, by the way-- able to interpret motives and dictate actions for an entire population of people.
