I, like many Vol fans, am disappointed in a lot of things that happened this season. It was a tough season for our beloved Vols, but there were flashes of what is to come in 2011 and beyond.

Instead of ranting over what went wrong this season, I thought I would start a thread where we look at all the positives going into 2011.

Several I have thought about:

1. We have a tremendous QB in Tyler Bray returning in 2011 who will only continue to get better. A friend of mine who is an Ohio State fan, who had not seen the Vols play this year, said we had one great QB in the making. It also doesn't hurt to have a guy like Worley right behind him.

2. Our Defensive Coordinator is returning next season after weeks of speculation about him leaving. This shows how some stability is back on Rocky Top and I believe the defense will only improve with one more year of learning the schemes and with recruits coming in. We also have some star players returning, like Janzen Jackson, Prentiss Waggner and Malik Jackson.

3. We have some awesome Wide Recievers. I loved the comment Bob Davie made last night, talking about Justin Hunter. He said Hunter has the potential to be GREAT in the future. It also doesn't hurt to have our veteran WR coach complementing Hunter and saying he has a bright future as well. We have some other great ones returning and coming in like Da'Rick Rogers and Arnett just to name a couple. I think Poole, Neal and Oku have the potential to improve a great amount this year aswell.

4. Dooley has a plan and is sticking to it. He knows what it takes to win and is sticking to the plan that made LSU so successful in the early 2000's. It's all about the process and I love that. This season I have loved to see Coach Dooley's enthusiasm, passion and business-like mood around the Vols program and on the sidelines. It is so refreshing and exciting going into the future. I also appreciate the class and integrity he himself has brought to UT. He promised us that in his original press conference and has delivered.

5. Our offensive line can only improve. With a year of experience under their belts, they are on the path to becoming a tremendous O-line. I am excited to see the improvements they make with coach Hiestand this offseason.

Let's continue to look at the positives vol nation.

Yeah, with our bunch of freshman against their future draft picks , the O line will be something else in the next couple years

Amen. More strength training and conditioning. A spring practice together. We even have a couple Early Entrys in the new kids that will be here this spring. And just think how many more starts of experience we can claim at the beginning of next season, versus the "three" we had this past August. They'll get there.
