Lets simplify the review rule

Your team gets gets burned a timeout or not? You challenge a call on the field and dont get burned a timeout becasue the the call is already under "official" review.

Georgia and Alabama got an extra challenge when the replay booth got word that is was already under review and they could still use a challenge later in the game.

They need to clarify when and how the replay booth allows a team not to burn a timeout.

I know they want to cleanup bad calls but lets just give a team 2 challenges a game with automatic review under 2 minutes.

I believe the easiest way to simplify this would be to suspend the amount of time the 'booth' is able to look at the play. If you cannot go back and review a play once the next play has begun, then I think the same should apply to timeouts. If a calls a timeout, then the official in the monitor in the review room should be shut off.

Exactly . . . All this calling timeouts and waiting around for a booth review and the running to the line to snap it before the replay official calls for a review is just dumb.

I'll agree with that. If they threw it, they saw something in the first place. Review it.

the challenge is stupid since they review each play anyway...and i have seen very few plays get off before play is stopped for review anyway...the challenge is kind of stupid.

give 'em 2 per game, and do it like the NFL...if you challenge results in an overrule, no time out is charged. If it is not over turned, you lose a time out.

well, the commentators are forever reminding us that "EVERY PLAY is reviewed by the officials upstairs,"...but why isn't anything ever overturned unless it's challenged? If there is a serious review of every play, there shouldn't even be the need for coach's challenges...yes? Just food for thought.

I'm with Jake on this one. Why have coach challanges when upstairs reviews EVERY play anyways? If they see a bad call then reverse it.

It doesn't matter how many challenges a team has. The review system gets it wrong 90% of the time anyway. It's a complete waste of time. All it does is add back the time that was taken away when they changed the clock rules. So, to sum up the new football format for 2006: less football and more confused old guys making bad calls.
