Lets share some interesting stats from the game

The sunshine pumping going on around here is ridiculous. It's not a sin to criticize your coaching staff when they arguably cost us the game due to poor play calling and an overall conservative attitude. Our defense was talented enough to get the job done, but they were kept out on the field too long. This isn't the first time under Jones that we've blown a lead in the 4th quarter, it's the 3rd, and this one hurts the most. There's no excuse for being up 17-0, and not scoring a single point the next half. The whole offensive approach during the second half was pure and plain vanilla. I'm a Jones fan and I want to see him succeed, but until he changes his philosophy once we gain a marginal lead, he will not survive in the SEC. We lost a game that we clearly should've won last Saturday night.

what the he!! you're talking about. Do some research before posting. He lost his job after injury and VOLUNTARILY left Texas Tech. If they didn't want him, why did Kliff Klingsbury put up such a barrier when Oklahoma tried to get him eligible last year? Why did he start in the first place?

I dig Tennessee man, but some of you are just damned cry babies.

All SEC fans should stop idolizing Paul Finebaum as if he actually IS Football Jesus. Dude was too scrawny and wimpy to play, I'm guessing.

Good luck the rest of your season. You have a helluva team, but your coach may become an issue after all this. Just sayin.

Its crazy how ppl are coming up with anything to make this coaching staff look bad. They had a good game plan but they didnt adjust. Im telling they will learn from their mistakes.

Didnt ESPN say that we had like 40 players that havent took a snap in our own stadium?

Didnt ESPN say that we played over 21 freshmen?

Quit your b****** and support your friggen team. We got smacked by the same Oklahoma by 24 points when we played them the first time. We played again when they were a better team and we took them to double over time.

Look im 99 percent sure our Vols are going to bounce back in the Swamp. They know what it feels like to lose now and im sure they dont want that feeling again. Also have you seen the Rest of the SEC East, Vandy is Vandy, USC is garbage, Kentucky is a threat to win the division, Mizzou almost lost to a sun belt team, UGA looked vulnerable, and UF was one butterfinger away from losing to ECU. Im confident we going to run the division! Who's with me:rock::rock::rock:

Good post, BUT you can forget about us beating Florida, this season or any other season for that matter.

I take you back to 1998. We had home field advantage. We caused 5 turn overs. We were clearly, clearly the better team that season.

Even with home field advantage & a 5 to 0 turn over ratio, it still took us overtime to get the win.

Oh, and we did not beat Florida, they made a mistake by their kicker not making the game tying field goal.

In other words, Florida beat themselves, we didn't beat them.

Even when we have a superior team, they beat us. Don't get your hopes up about beating Florida.

Florida's defensive backs are much better than those of Oklahoma and Oklahoma kept us at bay, other than Josh Smith. If we can't do well in the passing game against Oklahoma, what will the result be against Florida????

This season, my prediction was a loss to Oklahoma, Florida & Alabama. All the other games, to include the bowl game will be wins.

that's part of the problem, this coaching staff has been together long enough that they shouldn't be making these mistakes.

Just stop, Tennessee was a much better football team than OU. Tennessee got out coached and its plain and simple. Now can this staff improve? Yes. Can this team still win the east? Yes. Will they? I dont know because this staff is so damn set in their ways dont believe me then why is Colton Jumper still starting MLB? Interesting stat of the night OUR DAMN MLB ONLY HAD 4 F-ING TACKLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you think he starts at MLB? Cause the coaches don't want to play the best available players? Like they want to lose so they don't play the best available player at each position? Perhaps it's because we don't currently have a better option. I think this will change with experience but the logic that some have that the coaches intentionally choose not to play the best available players makes no sense

For the first three quarters they were out coached in the 4th is when all hell broke loose.

Other than a couple of plays in the second half, what did Tenn do offensively? Absolutely nothing. First half, UT. Second half, OU. M. Stoops made some adjustments at half and yes out coached the crap out of DeBord...PERIOD. Not to be rude, but still saying your team "dominated" or "out coached" us for three quarters is just plain not true. It was a simple tale of two halves. Your offense DID get dominated the second half, That's a fact. UT played incredible defense too. And you also have to consider the breaks went all UT in the first half. You know it's true.

I predicted Tennessee to lose to Oklahoma, UGA and Bama. So far I am correct. If I remember straight everybody before the season started had us losing to OU.

Butch?

We shouldn't have to hope the rest of the division sucks. We were the better and more talented team against OU. The players left it all on the field. This one is squarely on the coaches. They coached not to lose and its indefensible. I have zero problems with any player.

I think I read TN (-minus the kneeldown) had only 5 offensive plays in the 4th quarter. That's a fairly shocking stat if true.
