First day with a new coach... it's like the first day of a new semester. Optimism abounds, and a feeling that we're going to kill it this year.

We'll get behind Kelly and support her 100%. But what are our expectations?

Let's set the bar for next season. What level of team accomplishment do we think would qualify as a success? I'll start.

At a minimum: Third place finish or better in the SEC. SEC Tourney semi-finals. 24 or more wins. A good showing against UConn. NCAA Sweet 16 and a good showing in an Elite Eight game. I think KJH gets this done.

Bar too high? Too low?

I don't think there is any possible way to predict until we know who the assistant coaches will be and if there are any (more) transfers...

Let's see, you have a roster that has been "coached" by Holly, limited recruiting time, probable transfers, and a returning team that would have been in the WNIT if the front of the jersey didn't say "Tennessee". Round of 32 is probably realistic in Year 1.

I would say it’s going to be very tough to finish that high in the SEC. You have South Carolina, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Kentucky that will be tough to beat. I would like to see the roster before I make a prediction.

Bar is way too high. That would exceed her best run ever in the Ncaas. 9-9 conference play, make then tourney, upset a team in the first round before exiting in the round of 32. Will build interest from recruits. 13 -5 sec play in year 2 and sweet 16.

I may be wrong but I think this team will have to break some bad habits and get back to fundamentals. There is a lot of talent on the team but reminds of recent years with our football program- talented roster that lacked coaching.
With that said, make the dance and hopefully advance to 2nd round.

PG- Horston, Massengale
SG-Green, Burrell
C-Key, Saunders
BF-Collins, KK
SF-Davis, Brown

If all of these players are on the roster no reason that the can't go 12 and 4 in SEC play. Miss St losing most of their starters and many teams will have substantial losses. SC has a terrific freshmen class coming in and they look like number one in the league. When I compare us to all the others we seem to be right in line with Texas A&M, Miss St, and Kentucky. Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn, Florida, Missouri, and Vandy don't look that much better with what they had and what is coming in. I think Arkansas may be ready for a movement upward. Really need to know all the final rosters to compare as some of the teams will try to go out and get players especially Miss St cause he is middle of the pack with what he has now.

Let's at least let her find her parking space first.

That is what the new coach is all about and if she can't get it done then we will know quickly that she wasn't the answer. Playing smarter and better. Knowing how to defend and rebound are all areas we need a lot of improvement and the expectations should be she can turn it around next season not in two or three years. When you look at the SEC talent wise were at least number two. One thing Holly did was recruit well but her system stunk. Hopefully we want see anymore of that in our lifetime.

Here is the problem at the point if you start Horston you are setting the team back like with Westbrook not a good shooter from deep also not that good ball handler. Green and Massengale might be the way to go.

Not for me I'll take what she did in the Mcdonald's game every game she plays. A far better player than Massengale and Green right now and neither of them can shoot either. She can get to the rim I see nothing wrong with her ball handling I think it is superb. She can get to rim against anybody. She would be my point guard don't want the others you mentioned unless they get a lot better this summer.

My expectations aren’t record related. I’m more concerned about quality of play. I’d like to see fewer turnovers, sharp passing, offensive movement, and better on-court chemistry. Would be nice if our defense can limit star players and our posts learn how to keep the ball high for offensive putbacks.

Overall, our team and help defense needs to improve immensely.

By next March I want the team to look polished. If our play improves, results will follow.

A lot of the early work for Kellie will be teaching our players fundamentals, discipline and accountability. Judging from past player interviews, our current players believe they’re much better than they are and they need a reality check about what it truly takes to win a championship. What better teacher than someone who was the first to win 3 NCAA titles in a row?

Yeah! And rebound like sons-a-bitches
Put up a fight each time out & give us something to cheer for. Maybe they will win some games in the process, too.

Go Kellie!

Anyone can get to the rim so let`s not kid ourselves, Westbrook could get to the rim Mass could get the rim Green could get the rim and she finished most of the time. First of all we need to see who will stay.

I believe Texas A&M will be top team in the league next year. All of their starters from the end of the season will be back, plus Aaliyah Wilson who was a very good recruit out of high school. She was injured early in the season, but she is also a very good scorer. I suspect their line-up next season will be Carter, Wilson and Wells with Jones and Johnson holding down the paint. I actually think they could be a final four team next season. Blair has more talent right now than he has had in a long time and a couple players like Jones and Wells got more minutes this season due to other injuries and both showed they have massive potential. He'll have a couple transfers that will become active as well.

They're going to be tough.

AS for our line-up, I hate to even guess until we know who we will have and who we wont. I don't think having a freshman point guard is a good idea, no matter how great Horston is. Really needs to be a leader who has been with the program and who can be demanding of her teammates. New kid on the block always has a hard time with that. I hope Evina decides to return, I know she isn't the most popular person on here right now, but she has massive potential. If she cleans up her turnovers a little and continues to improve her shot she would be a major asset these next two seasons.

IF everyone stays and IF Kellie doesn’t adhere to the same boring offensive philosophy of throw it inside/offensive rebounds, then why shouldn’t we expect a sweet 16? She just took Missouri State to that level. We’ll be a year older, and apparently per other posters, Kellie is a master motivator.

That boring offensive philosophy executed properly just won the national championship. It's not so much the philosophy as it is execution and knowing HOW to do it and having the right players to do it.
I’m sorry, do we have 2 top ten posts down low? No? Then how will it work here?

I don't know how much film you have seem of Horston but she is by far the best five star player we have recruited since Candace. She does more than get to the rim her mid-range game is terrific. She needs some work on behind the three point line but she is as good as Green and Massengale from that distance neither came close to thirty percent from the field or 40 percent from anywhere. Zaay Green 22 percent from the three and Massengale 15 percent. Green 39 percent from the field and Massengale 33. I don't know who the new coach will play anywhere this was how I would play it and of course other people certainly decide who they would play. The only one that counts will of course be the coach, but I have a strong feeling if Horston comes here she will be in the starting lineup and if not play a very large amount of minutes per game.
