Let's say we go 8-5

Dooley Stays we sign a few more 2 and 3 star DB's ,LB's that can not cover. We lose to Georgia,SC,FL,ALABAMA,O,Aub .2014 We still lack Talent . we have to rebuild 3/4 of the 0-line . WR corps. New QB ... New schemes.. 2013 is the year to bring in a new Staff. Solid O-line,QB,D-LINE not year 2014

We could go 8-4 next year, and if those losses are to UF, Bama, UGA, and USC he should be let go, again.

I don't care so much about the wins as I do the losses. Most of the fanbase I would suspect feel the same way. Consistently losing to our biggest rivals gets real old, real quick.

Anyone remember Coacho Ocho?

http://www.volnation.com/forum/pub/53348-honor-chad-johnson-just-heard-fulmer.html

I remember when 8-5 was considered a joke and unacceptable.

I'd be happy for the players to win out, especially the guys like Lathers who have lived this mess from start to....

Fans Dooley is GONE! He just may or may not finish season. He will not be coach if he finishes season 4 straight wins and doubt he will coach bowl.

I don't know Dooley personally so I have no reason to dislike him. I hear things about him being aloof and rubbing some of the big money people and ex-players the wrong way, but who knows for absolute sure.

Any head coach who puts on the orange has and always wil have my support and the notion of pulling against UT for the sake of change is like poison.

That said...I'll cheer a little harder and yell a little louder as soon as CDD is officially declared a lameduck head coach.

And if the homerun hire that everyone appears to crave happens and is announced in a timely fashion...then the Mizzou and KY home games could be electric from start to finish. Wouldn't THAT be something... a strong finish for the outgoing guy, and an uptick for the new guy to build on.

I can see it in my mind's eye.

He won't make it to 8 wins. I don't think Dooley is man enough to beat Vandy at home..

It doesn't matter what happens in November, and really it shouldn't. His fate should be sealed.

Also even if we make it to a bowl game, Dooley shouldn't be coaching it. You do not fire a coach after a bowl game. He needs to fired the Monday right after the UK game.

Which means Dooley will be 19-19 at Tennessee going into his 4th season. Would next year be his last try?
What would his SEC record have to be to keep his job?
What if we place 4th in the East? Is he gone?
Discuss.

Last try. He MUST win 10 games. Period. Can't keep defending him. 6-2 in SEC or better. 4th place in East? Bye bye.

Text I got today from a uk friend sums things up nicely -

So UT & Vandy are the only schools to start 0-5 in SEC play three years in a row. Congrats on reaching a level of suckiness that even UK has yet to achieve.

Agree. Then hope we offer a ton of money to Gruden and pray for a chance. If we dont get gruden hire Charlie Strong for his chance at a big time school in the SEC.

I'm calling it. We win out and Dooley stays. We lose one more and he's gone.

You think Boosters and donors are going to donate money for us to beat sec games against 4-4 vandy,4-4 Missouri,1-8 UK and a 4-4 mid major Troy . That last 4 is some real hard games.

I would say, offer DD another year if he will give up his buy out. Unless he has 9 Regular Season wins, then he can keep it intact.

I was actually pleased with the SC effort. With 1 more year this team would beat George and gametots and maybe Mistersippi. Next year really could be a 2 loss or less team if everybody stays.

You only dump him if we lose another one and if a REAL coach wants our job. For the sake of recruiting he should be give a loud "vote of confidence, 110%" and all that jazz.

We will probably lose at least 2 games with any coach we have in September with Oregon and UF not considering rest of conference and Bama.

I for one hope we win out. The sad part is, some people on this site don't. When some in the fanbase start hoping for a loss (for any reason), it's ******* wrong.

I think we all want to win out. The issue is not wanting dooley around for next year. Is there anyone here that legitimately wants us to lose?
