how about last year when eric berry was going to return an INT for the win in OT against UK but was tackled by his facemask...that was ridiculous

I believe it was a blocked fieldgoal that was lateraled to Berry, not an interceptione return. Oh well, I was holding my breath thinking he was going to take it back anyway.

How about Fulmer punting the ball away on 4th and short from Auburn territory being behind on the scoreboard with a little over 3 minutes left in the game, while having only 1 timeout and a new 40 second play clock in force. No way we get the ball back with time for Crompton and crew to score. If you go for it and don't get it, Auburn gets the ball on their own 40 something. Gutless and clueless both come to mind in this situation.

Also, Fulmer calling a timeout with seconds left in the half of the 2004 Notre Dame game, while being on his own 30 yard line. I think he somehow thought that Ainge was going to throw the ball 70+ yards to the endzone for a hailmary td. I think we all know that the center made a bad snap and Ainge endee up getting sacked hard and got his shoulder injured to put him out for the season. Clausen couldn't get it done in the 2nd half and threw a dumb desperation interception that was returned for 6. This bonehead call cost us our great freshman QB and the chance at beating ND in that game. Had he not made that call, Ainge and crew might have had a shot at an at large BCS bid. I actually had a sick feeling in my stomach whenever he called that timeout. I remember saying something like " What an idiot! Why don't you just put a Knee on the ground and go into the lockeroom to regroup. This is not the time to get greedy and stupid. There is no way we can get the ball in the endzone and if Ainge gets hurt on this play, Fulmer will never live it down".
I have the same feeling about Fulmer putting Berry behind center for the remainder of the season. It makes no sense to chance Berry getting hurt with absolutely nothing on the line. I think this is nothing more than a desperate and selfish attempt by Fulmer to sway some fans to actually feel good about his tenure at UT. With the way things have gone for Fulmer this year, Berry would end up getting seriously hurt and Fulmer would never be welcome back on campus again.

A great funny and ridiculous memory that we will soon share is the merger of the Leach thread with this one since the title fits both equally as well.

Ridiculous: First, this whole season. Second is Hardesty disappearing on the sidelines for the Alabama game last year.

Funny: in 2005 there was a sideline ref in the South Carolina game that got blasted by a UT wideout, I dont know if its on the internet but it was great.

When that happened, well into my 3rd or 4th whiskey and Coke, I remember yelling at the TV and my friends in the room, saying, "That's it, Fulmer's finished."
