Why don't we all get together and have a show in the backyard to raise money for Gruden?...mom , Marcia, Jan and Cindy can make the curtains and costumes...Alice can make the food...Sam the butcher can donate the hotdogs...Dad and Greg, Peter and Bobby can build the stage...Then we will invite the neighborhood and I'm Darn sure we can raise the money!!! I hope you'll take the time out of your busy life and actually read all of this and then think and try to see some facts and reality before you just jump back and slam another post on here.

I want to Win as much as anyone and probably more because I'll probably be dead before 10 more years and I want to see my Vols play in another SEC Championship game and maybe even Win it and get a shot at another National Championship before I did.

At your young age 10 years is a piece of cake man but I already ate my cake so I want Wins as fast as we can rebuild this team and our program.

I'm not a subshine pumper which is why I warned people all Summer NOT to overexpect and think this team was a 9 or 10 Win team this season and why I constantly tried to tell everyone that even in the NFL where they practice 10 to 12 hours per day is still takes 2 years to learn everything and get the 3-4 D down pat.

I hate nick saTan but despite that I give credit where it's earned and the Bama D has been ranked number 1 for 2 years in a row, won 1 National Championship and looks like they can do it again this season and I hate that.

Chip Kelly at Notre Dame has the same D coordinator for 3 years and now they have their 3-4 D working well and look where ND is ranked right now.

CDD said he makes decisions based on what's best for our program for the LONG term which is why he switched us to the 3-4 D and Wilcox doesn't know how to coach and run the 3-4 like CSS and some of our D assistant coaches do.

I'll bet you would be real happy if our D got it together by next season and we always had a top 10 Defense most of the time from now on because if our D this year was just top 30 we would probably be only a 1 or 2 loss team right now and if our only loss was to Bama we would have already WON the SEC East and CDD would be trying to figure out how to beat Bama in the SEC Championship game and everyone would be happy.

Last year we couldn't run at all and CDD said he would fix that and he did because he knows we have to run the ball to Win consistently in the SEC.

Our Offense is better than it's been in 10 years now and last year we got totally BLOWN OUT in most big SEC games but this year we ARE competitive except that our D hasn't come together yet.

Oyr player roster was a joke when CDD got here and in the last 5 years we've had 5 or 6 go in the NFL but NOW we have maybe 18 to 20 future NFL players on our roster and CDD brought most of those kids in and that was in just HIS only 2 recruiting classes.

Bray and a couple more were recruits of laMe kiffScum, you know man, the so-called 1st class of CDD but it's NOT his class when CDD had only 2 WEEKS to try and keep the laMe class together and to try and add some players to that class.

Nobody can do much in 2 WEEKS man especially when he can't even tell the recruits who their position coach will be or what experience that position coach will have but still CDD added Stone, Hunter, Da'Rick rogers and a few others to the laMe class and Da'Rick could have been a superstar if he wasn't stupid and would follow the rules instead of being a Cancer to our Vols.

CDD has made this team better and he started trying to get our Defence going too so our Vols D would challenge Notre Dame and Bama every year and be ranked in the top 10 so we could compete with any team we had to face in any bowl game but we started with basically nothing and rebuilding a college program takes time.

Is CDD really the answer...I have no idea and neither does anyone else because our player roster is NOT on a even ground with the top SEC teams just yet BUT you're not dumb man and you KNOW for a fact that if we had the D to stop only 3 to 5 big scoring plays per game we could have Won every game so far except for bama and we would have played Bama much closer than we did.

I only want 1 thing...WINS and lotsof them and the sooner the better.

I do NOT want CDD fired and to waste $10 Million in buyouts if the only thing we can get is another CDD.

Either get a huge HOMERUN hire with a proven, winning HC that's also at least a proven top 10 recruiter and really good assistants that are also really good recruiters or else save the money and keep CDD for 1 more year and try to find the real HOMERUN hire for after next season if CDD and CSS don't get our D fixed and can't Win the SEC East.

It's just dumb to fire CDD to only get another CDD type coach so it must be a HOMERUN hire or forget firing CDD how.

Personally...I'd rather throw $8 Million a year and pay his buyout and get Nick Saban who's PROVEN what he can do than to spend $5 Million a year for Gruden or some other bozo that's NOT proven they can recruit or Win in the always tough SEC.

I do NOT support CDD or any other coach...I ONLY support my Tennessee Vols and that includes whoever we have as coaches and players.

We are very close to winning the SEC East and only our new 3-4 Defense stopped us this year so I don't want to see us set backwards for several more years by hiring a nobody coach that can't get it done and we have to start all over again 4 or 5 years from now.

are the one's out of line and in denial. I am not sure what it would take to shake any intelligence from people like you that think Dooley is a must keep. Let me count the ways, the Kentucky defeat, poor to down right bad recruiting, slow and two stars will get you beat in the SEC., the worst defense in the history of UT, never having beaten an opponent of substance, hugh turnover in the coaching ranks. I could go on and on with his ineptness including not being glued in during ballgames. We are as a group more aware of his surroundings than he is. I have Fl. friends and the some comparison to Zook are being made but Zook recruited and brought excitement to the program, something that Dooley has never been able to do. That hurts recruiting and we are just recruiting players that will give us the same result we are seeing every Sat. Dooley must go or our program will fall further behind the pack and that fall is already a small jump.

The bigger the mob, the lower the IQ. That might explain some of the A++ posts right after gameday when user numbers swell. At those moments, I'm scarred to even guess at a collective IQ but suspect a WV team could score that much by most halftimes.

Please try to understand that's all in fan FUN and I think fans are allowed to have a little fun and talk a little smack now and then and besides, those are our most hated rivals in the SEC.

I'm also a Titans fan and we play in the AFC South so we have fun and name our bitter rivals the Indy Dolts, Houston tOxins and the Jacksonville Hags, not Jags, they'll always be Hags, LOL.

I'm old and I probably won't live another 10 years so I want my Vols to get lots of wins as fast as we can and win a SEC Championship and maybe even bring another crystal football to K town before I'm gone.

Try to understand that even some of us old people also like to have some fun and talk a little smack now and then and we even still like sex too, LOL.

Excellent post on all points. This contast clammor for change is counter-productive at best. CDD may not be the guy but I want to crap my pants every time some slackjaw says we need to hire Cutcliff 'cause he's all Vol.' If we're going to rock the boat yet again, it better be an all-star.

You make good points, but they are points that have been beaten to death. I started this season with an open mind on DD. That being said, the Miss State game is what really swayed me, we had 2 weeks to prepare for that game and we come out like a pop warner team.

I do not care what state the UT football program is in, there are games we are not supposed to lose. Those are Vandy, UK, Miss state, Ole Miss. We managed to lose to UK last year, that was nearly the unpardonable sin. For many it was. This year we lose to a Miss State team that had played NOBODY of substance what so ever.

The times of blaming Fulmer & Kiffin are over. This is Dooley's team and he is the man responsible. We keep seeing the same mistakes over, and over again. Its time to cut the guy loose.

Hart has to much pressure on him, he has to go after a high profile coach. Not doing so, or even worse, keeping Dooley in place puts his job in jeopardy. He's not going to do that, he did not hire DD.

At the end of the day, i want what's best for UT. To my way of thinking, that is not Derek Dooley. It wasn't from day 1, it's not now.

I think you said at 1 time that you're 19 years old so what do you really know for certain what it takes and how long it takes to totally rebuild a college football team?

You said you started this season with a open mind but the MSU game decided everything for you meaning your mind is now CLOSED and you should never close your mind or base a football program only on Wins and Losses because there's much more to it than the current W/L record.

Yep, we lost to Kentucky last year but NOBODY beats a team every game forever and I remember Vandy beating us in Neyland more than once too but I was sick at losing to Ky too buddy but we WERE going to lose to Ky eventually so I'd rather it be when we're way down and totally rebuilding than to be undefeated and lose a possible National Championship by slipping up against Ky man and I'll bet you'd prefer that too.

You mentioned alot of teams you expect to beat every year but I also expect to beat USCe and UGA every year too but that doesn't always happen.

I remember when I expected to get at least 9, 10 or more Wins every year and those were the good old days man but we're just NOT even close to the team we were back in those days...YET but we are getting there.

Remember man, if our D was just ranked in the top 30 or 40 this year we would probably be only a 1 oe 2 loss team at the worst so we ARE very close to turning the corner and winning the SEC East again and I think when we start Winning like that we'll stay up among the best in the SEC for many years to come.

Remember something else man...When we can start winning lots of games with a younger coach then we can keep paying him and keep winning lots of games for 20 to 25 years kind of like we did with Fulmer before he got lazy on recruiting and was too loyal to fire assistant coaches that needed to go long before so IF, and nobody know for certain right now, but if CDD can get us over the hump we just might get ona big winning roll for 20 to 25 years.

Bama loves winning now but Saban will be long gone in 8 to 10 years if not sooner and then Bama is bact to trying to find a really good coach/recruiter and they could tumble down again like they did for 12 or 15 years.

Just some things to think about buddy.

Yep, we lost to Kentucky last year but NOBODY beats a team every game forever and I remember Vandy beating us in Neyland more than once too but I was sick at losing to Ky too buddy but we WERE going to lose to Ky eventually so I'd rather it be when we're way down and totally rebuilding than to be undefeated and lose a possible National Championship by slipping up against Ky man and I'll bet you'd prefer that too.

You mentioned alot of teams you expect to beat every year but I also expect to beat USCe and UGA every year too but that doesn't always happen.

I remember when I expected to get at least 9, 10 or more Wins every year and those were the good old days man but we're just NOT even close to the team we were back in those days...YET but we are getting there.

Remember man, if our D was just ranked in the top 30 or 40 this year we would probably be only a 1 oe 2 loss team at the worst so we ARE very close to turning the corner and winning the SEC East again and I think when we start Winning like that we'll stay up among the best in the SEC for many years to come.

Remember something else man...When we can start winning lots of games with a younger coach then we can keep paying him and keep winning lots of games for 20 to 25 years kind of like we did with Fulmer before he got lazy on recruiting and was too loyal to fire assistant coaches that needed to go long before so IF, and nobody know for certain right now, but if CDD can get us over the hump we just might get ona big winning roll for 20 to 25 years.

Bama loves winning now but Saban will be long gone in 8 to 10 years if not sooner and then Bama is bact to trying to find a really good coach/recruiter and they could tumble down again like they did for 12 or 15 years.

I'm 37. I have been a UT fan since i could walk.
There are teams we are not supposed to lose to, no matter the state of the program.

Keeping Dooley is going to do us more harm than good.
Recruiting is sucking. Recruits look for results, where are dooley's? You can only pump sunshine so long.

I fully understand the situation DD inherited, i thank him for stabilizing the situation. Now its time for a proven coach to take over.
Know why Bama and ND are having success? They have real coaches. They have a track record of success wherever they have been. Its time for UT to get with the program.

I meant saying it. Since Dooley brought it, usually those things go to the wayside once a coach leaves. Was mainly sarcasm since OP said he was vfl, which makes it funny when people say it cause its a program Dooley brought here.

I never understood the term anyways, since it is a program that turned into slogan somehow.

I have asked a couple of other times but have never received a response ... What "proven coach" has ever been a success at the University of Tennessee?

The reason that there has been no answer is because the answer is, "NONE." The best coaches at UT have been developed. That includes Neyland, Dickey, and Fulmer.
