Lets pretend for a second

Alright let's pretend for a minute you didn't post this crap. Then let's pretend you find something better to do than crash the party. Then let's pretend you wind up pulling for another team. Then let's pretend we kick the crap out of that team. :ermm: This just in, it's not pretend world.

that we are #1 in the SEC and #3 in the nation in recruiting

Lets then pretend that Alabama is #3 in the SEC and LSU is #4

Lets then pretend we have 13 recruits and Alabama and LSU have 6 each

Lets then pretend that Alabama and LSU have 13 recruits like us.

Would we still be #1?

Seems like several peeps on here are going to be disappointed when we probably end up #4 or #5 in the SEC in recruiting at the end of the year

We are celebrating like we are up 21-7 in the first quarter with 3 quarters left to play

The scorned girlfriend that is VN is likely to rear its ugly head if some don't temper their expectations

Have a lovely day

Who would be #1 if each state represented in the SEC had to fill the roster with in state players only ? :search:

I'm more pumped by CBJ's approach and success in re-energizing a dejected fanbase via his words AND actions thus far. The current class ranking is simply a quick and easy barometer for the vision he has for the program and his ability to successfully communicate this to prospective recruits effectively enough to generate buy-in. It also reflects the fact that it seems to be working with the talent level players we must attract to return to a championship caliber program again. Good Lord, we already have guys climbing on board for 2016! This alone says something is happening that is different in a positive way from recent experience with previous HC's would suggest.

He appears to be doing a lot right considering how he has already managed to win over so many of us before coaching a single game that had been disappointed following that circus of a hiring process initially. No small accomplishment when you factor in the immense level of passion we have for this program.

It boils down to the fact that regardless of the final class ranking, all signs available to us as fans right now seem to indicate that we may have finally hit the bottom and are finally back on the rise. A new level of energy and excitement is beginning to permeate the fans, the alumni, the current players and prospects at this point. CBJ may end up being a total bust in the end, no one can say one way or the other with any certainty, but up to this point in time, he has most of us seeing the future potentially amounting to greatness once again versus concern about an unknown future which occurred after the firing of CPF, followed by rampant anger and disgust after CLK's departure, & then abject hopelessness during last year's CDD led campaign. Its nice to be thinking that the sky's the limit again instead of okay, who can can we get that is able and willing to replace a legend, or love the buzz but wonder how long before this spoiled brat of a coach racks up more serious violations or I sure hope the coach remembers how many time outs are left this time and correctly counts the # of men on the field.

Lets pretend some of the current commits gets a bump in stars and CBJ adds a couple of 5* and ends up with a top 5 class and 1 or 2 in the SEC. Then who will care what LSU or Bama does ?

NSD is not until February and most 5 stars wait late to commit. So the wild card in all this is how the season plays out. Vols winning games could put a nice cap on it. 9-4 with a bowl win and it could be very interesting especially if either or both Dawgs and Gamecocks fall off. Vols have to recruit SC and GA well to have a great class. Beating USCe and Georgia is REAL important to CBJ's success.

Since Scout and Rivals are so far up Alabama's butt, we could end up with a truly better class and I could still see them giving Bama the better rank. 247 or nothing.

step 1: Admit you have a problem.
Step 2: Fire the coach(es).
Step 3: Hire a winner.
Step 4: Raise expectations and measures of success (this is what you are referring to).
Step 5: Recruit, recruit, recruit.
Step 6: Coach up players to their utmost potential.
Step 7: Use vfl, tutoring, mentoring, captains and buddy system to keep athletes out of trouble.
Step 8: Prayer and faith!!!

We have potential program changers like Jalen Hurd and Todd Kelly Jr. already, as well as the best recruiter in the country who's still in high school in Vic Wharton. Our class will be up there for a coach who has never coached talent this elite but has still won conference championships. We'll all be extremely excited when these guys arrive, regardless of who has classes ranked ahead of us.

:)

Tennessee's 2014 class right now kind of reminds me of UGA's 2013 class at this same time last year.

We got a lot of early commits, and were rated pretty high in the team rankings because of it. I believe at this time last year UGA was probably in the top 5 in the nation. Much of the reason we were ranked so high though was simple because we had more commits than most anyone else.

We even had a top rated RB, and safety in Derrick Henry, and Tray Matthews. Like you guys have Hurd, and Kelly. Although you guys will probably hold on to Hurd unlike we were able to do with Henry.

There was a lot of excitement among UGA fans about our 2013 class at this time last year. We didn't really have the strongest finish, and many of our fans went into meltdown mode on NSD. Still it was a large class with a lot of mid 4 star type players at positions of need. It sounds weird but I think our fans would of been happier with our 2013 class if some of those mid 4 star players we got would of committed on NSD as opposed to far earlier in the process. Too much hype revolves around NSD, and far too many recruits that committed earlier are somewhat forgotten.

I'm not as familiar with Tennessee's current needs but it does look like you guys are off to a hot start. Momentum is bigger than it ever has been in recruiting, and you guys definitely have it right now. Also looks like your coach has brought a lot more excitement back to the program. Will be very interesting to see how your 2014 class finishes.

It is strange for an UGA fan to post something that isn't solely about UGA. We are excited and no offense but really hope we whoop up on you guys this fall.
