Assuming we need a coach come January of 2008, pick one...

1. Schiano - Rutgers
2. Rodriguez - West Virginia
3. Gruden - Tampa Bay
4. Cutcliffe - Rocky Top
5. Peterson - Boise State
6. Stoopes - Oklahoma
7. Other

Why is Bob Stoops on the list? There is < 0% chance of that.

I vote for none of the top 6. I like Gary Patterson.

Bama already tried Rodriguez and looked stupid when he turned them down. OU would never let Stoops go. Gruden will receive an NFL head coach position immediately if he is ever available. Schiano and Peterson have only achieved in one season. They're not qualified to lead a program like UT. Cutcliffe would be a disaster. All in all, that's pretty much the worst list ever created.

Just throwing out names that I've seen coughed up most often. I doubt that most of these guys leave their current jobs for Tennessee. Schiano turned down Miami and Rodriguez turned down Bama at the last minute. Gruden doesn't look as attractive as he would have 3 years ago.

Not much to choose from unless we get a hot assistant or a Peterson type from a small school.

About as likely to happen as the other 6 or so candidates. Can Tennessee offer Steve membership to Augusta National like Hootie Johnson can?
we could afford it, and can SC offer him the friendship and support of Bruce Pearl, thats all a person really needs in life

If all of those coaches were available I would choose Jon Gruden, however, as most have said it most likely wouldn't happen.

Despite rumors eminating from Tuscaloosa about his immortality, also dead.

Well, if we can't get dead coaches and we don't have many "big name" coaches left that would be willing to leave their current jobs, then I guess we should just keep Fulmer until his contract is up.
