1. We lost our best offensive weapon in Hunter in the 3rd game and our best defensive player, JJ right before the season started.

2. Everyone now knows that we cannot run the ball. With Hunter out, D Rogers gets double teamed. Bray can't do it all with no running game and behind the OL that we have.

3. We are starting four sophomores on the line. Our OL has regressed from last season. There is no excuse for them being this bad. You have to question coaching here. No more status quo, sit some butts on the bench and find someone else to block. The Stone experiment and hand switch on snaps has been a failure. High school teams don't have this much trouble with shotgun snaps.

4. We do not have a good running back right now much less an elite one. When we were good, it was because we could run the football. Poole isn't getting it done. R. Neal is a disappointment. Start Lane and lets see what T. Smith can do.

5. The loss of Hunter hurt us bad. Now Rogers is double teamed and we have no other threats. No one is scared of Zack Rogers. Milton has been a bust. There is potential with Arnett and Rivera has been a nice surprise.

6. Our special teams are not so special. Palardy has picked right up where Lincoln left off. We can't consistently kick the ball to the end zone and have too many blocks on kicks and punts. D. Young is the one bright spot here.

7. Our Juco signees on defense have not contributed much yet. We are starting on defense a former TE/OL at DT (Hood), a DE (Martin) that hasn't played in a year, a former FB (Johnson) at MLB, two freshmen at LB, a former WR (Teague) at corner, and a former baseball player (Brewer) at safety.

8. 70% of the roster is Freshmen and Sophomores. The lack of a senior class hurts. We don't turn this around until we start to retain the players that we recruit. Even Kiffin's recruiting class is largely gone.

All of this adds up to being average in the SEC.

I'm with you. We are relying on new, mostly unproven players to beat teams that have been playing together under the same coaching staff for longer than we have.

Don't do this. Too logical.
The people whose sphincter tightens at every bad thing that happens might learn something.

I think #8 sums up this team.

Our starters consist of basically all Sophomores and Freshman with some JUCO players here and there. A young team like this will tease you. We looked like we could hang with anyone in the nation when we were putting up 40+ points against Cinci and Buffalo. Then we play SEC teams and we get put back where we are, a young and still inexperienced team.

The good thing is we are talented, we just got to give these guys time to get on the same page together and mature.

But most on VN said we were good and would win by 17+ 0 where is the disconnect between fandom and reality? There is a huge disparity between your last statement and the expectations of 90% of VN

This team only had 4 legit game changers on the roster(Bray,Hunter,D.Rogers,J.Jackson) now 3/4th are out...with Bray and Hunter I thought we had a punchers chance in any game this season....not so much with Simms and Z.Rogers

1. GIVEN and Agree.

2. Somewhat agree.

3. We are starting four sophomores on the line. Our OL has regressed from last season. Disagree There is no excuse for them being this bad. SEC Opponents exposes Youth You have to question coaching here. NO I Don't No more status quo, sit some butts on the bench and find someone else to block. SEC Caliber Opponents The Stone experiment and hand switch on snaps has been a failure. Agree

High school teams don't have this much trouble with shotgun snaps. They are not playing in the SEC or at the College level.

4. We do not have a good running back right now much less an elite one. When we were good, it was because we could run the football. Poole isn't getting it done. R. Neal is a disappointment. Start Lane and lets see what T. Smith can do. We don't have a punishing back

5. The loss of Hunter hurt us bad. Now Rogers is double teamed and we have no other threats. No one is scared of Zack Rogers. Milton has been a bust. There is potential with Arnett and Rivera has been a nice surprise.
Time and patience

6. Agree

7. . No pressure on the QB exposes the vulnerability on the Defensive Secondary

8. Kiffin's class was shake and bake......For the most part I hate to say this it was the nucleous of fulmer's recruits that saved that team....

We were in the game until the end!!! That in itself is a monumental improvement from past years.

Because Z rogers catches it more than Milton does.

Milton does nothing in practice and can't catch the ball.

Agree with most of that. Everyone who has any football knowledge at all knew that we would be average this year in the SEC. Not sure why all of a sudden everyone is calling for Dooley's head and freaking out when we lost to a GA team that had more talent and more experience on the field. Dooley inherited a 3-4 year rebuilding process and now in year 2 people are putting him on the "hot seat". Laughable. He will be here for many years. We are headed in the right direction. We are still at least 2 years away from competing for an SEC championship. Doesn't mean we can't cheer on our team and have fun during the "down" years. In order to compete in the SEC the core of your team needs to be Juniors and Seniors and then you sprinkle in the underclassmen to contribute in places as they grow and learn, but you can't rely on a team full of underclassmen to be your every down players, especially on the OL and pretty much the entire defense, or you will be exposed. Chin up, we still have some great football in us this year and a bright future with the talent Dooley is bringing in. Go Vols!!! My :twocents:

:clapping: :salute:

Milton must be TERRIBLE. If he's 6'6/6'5 (confirm?) and has a fast 40... he must have hands of BRICKS. Or doesn't know what a route is.
