This team could wind up with 7 regular season wins. A 7 win team is right about where many expected. In some weird way, we played much better than I expected in the OK game and FL looks like they have hired a dynamic new coach who has them rolling.

If this team ends up with 7 regular season wins, Butch is gonna be fine and the program is not that far off-track.

As I recall, Butch was really our only choice after Dooley. The biggest mistake was passing on Sumlim. At any rate, I don't know if anyone wants this job.

The real question it seems to me is can he recognize DeBord needs to go, O-Line coach needs to go and wide receiver coach needs to go.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is called settling. This is why we are in the predicament we're in. Just because we can get 7 wins doesn't mean that's what we should have. We SHOULD be 5-0. And the sad part is that if we do get to a bowl game, people will be happy. And then next year there will be more hype to finally break through. GOOD COACHES DON'T NEED 4 YEARS TO WIN.

DB coach needs to go. I'm so sick of watching our CBs line up 10yards off the line and then stand around watching WRs make the catch before trying to make a play. Its clear they have no idea how to play in a zone and the entire secondary looks lost the entire game.

Heck, McElwain just needs one apparently! UF is much younger than us across the board. They were predicted to finish below us and UGA. Now, they're sitting at 5-0 (3-0 SEC), just blew away the #3 team in the country, pulled out a win vs a huge rival (us) last week, and look like they are also gonna run the East this year out of nowhere. Oh, and Grier is a freshman to boot. There is no process. If you are good enough as a coach, you can literally win at any time and he's proving that right now. We don't have that with Butch.

7 and 5...from here? I don't see us beating both Mo and SC this year. Spurrier is due on us and Mo is in Columbia.

I don't think we should be happy with 7 wins, but I don't know if we should be screaming off with the coaches head either...

This is a huge decision for Tennessee. Say we go ahead and fire CBJ this year, if they do they will pay out $2 M in buyout to him next year, plus the salary of whoever they end up hiring. But who is going to want to coach here right now, who wants to coach at a place where fans are turning on a coach this quickly?

Assuming we do fire CBJ and then get a coach, if the AD does not get this one right, and ends up firing the new guy in 3 years, the AD will actually be broke and UT football will be in a far worse place with no end in sight.

So, to those of you who say CBJ needs to be gone, you might be right, but you better pray that we get the right coach or we could find ourselves in a far worse place than we are right now...

Fortunately, most of the national media has already emphasized that Butch is a joke, so it doesn't come across as just a bunch of unreasonably disgruntled fans. Also, he's pretty proven fairly definitively that he was the worst SEC hire of 2012.

If this team ends the season with 7 wins I still don't want Butch to stay. I've seen enough. I was a sheep for 2 years. Now my eyes have opened.

UTs financial situation is going to change if nothing is done as well. Hanging with a lost cause (after the smoke and light show stops) is not good for the purse either.

Jim Harbaugh would agree. They may lose more games this season but they have recorded 2 straight shutouts. Jones' lone "signature win" against S. Carolina came on a miracle catch by M. North. Miracle plays like that are not a sign of turning the corner like blanking 2 back to back opponents.

Jones aint it fellows. The question is how long with the whole volnation put up with Dooley 2.0 and who is available that is the real thing.
