Milton - surprises everybody at WR
Palardy - does well at kicker and surprises some ppl
Miller - starts getting snaps at DE and eventually works into the starting rotation
Rodgers - too physical and has decent yr at WR
Meline - moves to defense and becomes solid at CB also returns on ST's

Propst is probably the heir apparent because of his smarts. He is better suited at getting people aligned properly.

I would like to redshirt Bray and Hunter for strength, Stone for technique. I think some of those OL that redshirted last year are going to surprise people.

Palardy- cause he's guaranteed to start going aganst Lincoln
Rogers- he's Da'Freak and we invested so much I'm sure he's guaranteed significant PT
Jawuan James- he's been enrolled all semester, needs at OL and is already huge
Miller- He'll see some PT behind Walker and Martin
Bray- I honestly think he may beat out Stephens. If anything, I think Simms will win the job, I just don't see Stephens being the guy that wins this battle

Too early too tell But If I head to guess think Milton, Rogers, Stone and I am not sure about the other 2 but its to earlly to tell.

Great Topic...(although I think more than 5 will see playing time this year esp if we are counting RS Freshmen! Some will play immediate and play throughout the season and some will play here and there and then rest will RS...

IMMEDIATE PT FRESHMEN:
D. Rogers: Got the size, speed, and big play ability...look for this guy to make plays throughtout the year and make some great catches (if our QB can get it him due to inexperience and OL line play)

J. Scofield: RS Freshman that def has the size to play either LT or RT depending on where they play A.Douglas...Our OL depth is known to be our biggest weakness due to inexperience and little depth...So Scofield is in line to get a chance to start

M. Parlady: Highest rated K in 2010 class...Position of need...And can serve as our punter if needed...Def will see the field

J. Askew: Another RS freshman ready to play...Prolly had more talent than any of the linebackers in last year's freshman class, had trouble learning playbook...Possible R. McCoy replacement

C. Miller: Advantage of being an EE and being able to hit the weight room early and learning the system...Great playmaker from defensive side of the ball...Might not start, but could see him being maybe a 3rd down lineman and be that next man in the D-line rotation

HERE AND THERE PT FRESHMEN:
J. James: Could challenge J.Schofield for the other tackle position but I see him more coming in here and there bringing him along...Helps being an EE as well

J. Smith: EE that will benefit from the early start on the process...Learning the systeam and another guy that will be in the D-Line rotation

E. Gordon: This RS freshman could be our nickel back this season but also could challenge for a starting spot for D.Rogan's old spot...Has good instincts and the RS year gave him time to bulk up

T.Bray: I dont think he starts (N.Stephens or M.Simms will win the starting QB spot) but I think we will see him at some point in the season if he is able to put the much needed weight on and learns the playbook

J. Stone: This 'big ugly' could pop into the IMMEDIATE PT FRESHMEN given the much documented OL depth...Depends if the staff decides to play him at Tackle or Guard...I will go with Guard and will play alot

Others that you might see pop up at some time in the season but wont have much of an impact:
E. Lofton, M. Milton, T. Meline, N. Oliver, J. Hunter, M.Dixon(esp if he is our PR/KR)

Rest will redshirt:
N.Nance, C.Fugate, R.Crump, Z.Fulton, R.Neal, J.Propst, D.Sapp, M.Pair

We have alot of holes in alot of places that some freshman will undoubtly be asked to fill. First you got The Redshirt Freshman like Jerod Askew who has an opportunity to start, Darren Myles Jr. Should also see some time at safety. Eric Gordon is going to challenge for a cb spot. Schoefield will definetly see the field early as think as we are on the line he will probably start. Hopefully these guys make the best of the opportunities and step up and grab those starting jobs. Than of course are the True Freshman as to whom I believe will play a huge role this next season, providing depth and maybe a few starting. I would start off with a no brainer... Michael Palardy- Kid will be starting kicker from day one, maybe even handling our punting duties, if any of the freshman are guaranteed to start it would be him. Da'Rick Rogers- Everyone knows how highly touted this kid is, but while I don't see him starting over Jones or Moore, he will certainly see the field often and early. Jawuan James- I don't see James cracking the starting lineup immediatley here at UT, but he is an EE and that is a huge advantage. He will definetly provide some much needed depth along the OL and he will recieve PT, just how much? and how soon? is the question. Corey Miller- Now I am not saying Miller will start but I think he is going to have a big impact on our defense, I think he will be playing both sides giving Walker and Martin a breather when they need it and as fast as he is off the edge, I can certainly see him making the most of any playing time he receives. James Stone- Much like James I dont see Stone starting for us right away, James is atleast an EE. Stone is a talented freshman who will provide depth alone the line. I am sure he will get his reps like James but don't expect to see him a whole lot unless our already thin OL get'sthinner. Alot people are going to say "you forgot Tyler Bray". While I really like Bray the thread says freshman who will play. I would love too see Bray come out and just kill it, win the starting job and end our qb worries from day one. But let's be realistic Bray is a good qb and I think he will be very good for us in a year or two. I just don't see him coming in and being able to unseat Stephens or even Simms for that matter. I think Stephens wins the job but dyes his hair blonde to silence the chants of "ginger" once and for all. Think back at how many true freshman qb's you can think of that have started in the sec and been succesfull? Very Few, and I am sure the succesfull one's probably didn't have 4 new starters on the line.

i like all of your picks but i would switch meline for gordon... meline is a definate rs imo for he is making the transition to defense and gordon is already on defense and has a year of practice under his belt... i honestly see gordon challenging for a starting position towards the middle of the year

True freshmen

Matt Milton- huge red zone target.Already has a leg up on rest of freshmen WRs.

Da'rick Rogers- This kid is just too talented to ride the pine.He should be in the rotation from day 1 and wouldn't shock me if he takes a starting spot by midseason.

Michael Palardy- No brainer here. He can probably kick better with his right leg that Lincoln.Will be a major asset on kickoff.

Jawaun James- Lack of depth on OL almost throws him in by default.Easily most ready of all the frosh OL.Future All-confrence left tackle.

Corey Miller-Should be in the rotation from the start. Will be able to get a lot of snaps behind Martin & Walker.

2 RS who I think will get a lot of PT:

Jarod Askew-if he can pick up the playbook and the mental part of the game,look out. Has all the other tools to be the next great UT linebacker imo.

Eric Gordon- I think a lot of people are overlooking this guy. Clark will have 1 CB slot locked up but the other is wide open. I'm not the biggest Art Evans fan,he seems soft and haven't seen enough of Raines to decide on him . Should be a good battle between the 3 in spring.

I know not many people have said much about him, but will Arthur Jeffery be able to make any type of impact next year? I know he was only a 3 star but with us being so depleted does anyone see him seeing meaningful playing time next year?
