Let's fire a coach every two years "Fan Speak"

Since 1994, only 1 SEC coach has been fired before Year 3 for performance (as opposed to scandal). Ron Dowhower at Vanderbilt who went 4-18. If Pruitt goes 1-11, he will be in the same territory, 6-18 with a far better roster on paper than mid 90's Vanderbilt which was chock full of 2 star equivalents. Are we really going to have lower standards than mid-90's Vanderbilt at Tennessee? Do you hardcore coach guys know the colonoscopy with no anesthesia we are about to get from Bama and UGA? What are we going to do? Have a players only meeting? We already did that in week 1, this team's psyche is going to sink even lower. I'm not saying CJP is definitely going to be fired, but if you don't think there is a possibility you're crazy. If the worst case scenario continues to unfold Fulmer's hand will be forced, he will have to step in.

Some of Yall have totally missed the Point. No Damn wonder We have the Fanbase we have!

BTW I fixed the Thread Title to help some of yall understand.

Im going to tell ya, you guys on this firing coach S'"t is stupid as He$$! What good does firing a coach every two years do? A coach is only going to be a good coach once he establishes his players and his system. Do you all realize how many different systems these guys have had to learn? How do you expect them to be good when they are trying to learn then here come the Fans "oh he has to be fired now" then boom fire and hire and then its back to the same ol ********! I can tell you now Pruitt is not going anywhere for atleast two more years. They gonna let him get his players and his system in place. I know you going to Bash me i don't care. But our Fanbase is one of the Problems with this Program![/QUOTE]
You’re right, too many fans like you , so why

Okay mr. Loser mentality. Lecture everybody about how we should be okay with losing. I guess you're the top that would go buy your kids a new car if they got three F's on their report card. Whatever man. Some of us are sick of the mediocrity and worse in this case. It's not too much to ask for progress and we're not seeing progress. You want to give a coach for years to run it that much further into the ground. Alabama did not do that before they wound up with Saban. They were firing coaches every two to three years until they got the one they wanted.

Wrong guy but right school. Robbie Caldwell was at Vanderbilt only one season (2010) when he was fired for James Franklin. So technically Vandy has 2x coaches. You can kind of say the same thing with Arkansas and John L. Smith.

So you are saying you are the first person on this board to start a thread like this?

You are aware that noone here can fire CJP, correct?

Unrealistic fan expectations and quick draws screaming to fire the coach at every little provocation doesn't help build programs, is what he is saying.

By the way, Vandy is more eager to fire a coach that is mediocre than Tennessee lol. There was an article recently from Memphis about the same thing that was posted.

We fired one coach after 2 years in our entire history. And Robert Neyland is the man who pulled the trigger.

Yeah, this fanbase is the problem. So much so they just keep coming back again and again. So much a problem they keep buying all the over priced Nike crap. They keep buying 130.00 tickets to watch a Vandy level product. Go f yourself dude, the fanbase is tired of being used and abused by an administration that doesn't care.

They were interims though weren't they? I got that stat from Saturday Down South. Wouldn't be the first time those yokels were wrong though.

Except we haven't fired any coach after 2 years.

Butch was here 5 years and "got his players" and now everyone is blaming him because he left a "mess". So everyone who keep saying Pruitt needs 5 years and "his players", you do realize we literally just did that with Butch, right? The only thing you got going for you is a big ol hunch and a prayer that Pruitt will turn out better.

It’s always funny to me when the last coaches players are instantly trash, and not worthy of a D1 scholly.

The same people running down the last guy’s classes were “Boom!” - ing their asses of when the same players committed. “He’s gonna be a stud!” “We got a good one boys. Look at that offer list! Woo hoo!!”

Now they are complete bums and Pruitt can’t be expected to field a competitive team with these losers.

LOL

For those saying fans need to wait on Pruitt to get his recruits in, do you think he can only coach if he has his top talent, he doesn't care about the former players, or he can only coach players who have never been in another system. It must be one of the above, as his recruiting classes are no higher ranked than the classes of the past 10 years.

My bad, I didnt know beating teams like georgia st was considered unrealistic expectations at Tennessee. Ill try to fall in line with the sheep.

I dont think many are screaming to fire a.coach at every little provocation, but when it becomes obvious that someone isnt a good coach, you are only delaying the inevitable. But dont worry, I promise noone at ut is seeking my opinion..

Exactly.
Defense:
A Taylor: 4*, Burrell:4*, Thompson:4*, warrior:4*, bituli:4*, Henry to to:4*, Emerson:4*, Solomon:4*, ignont:4*, d Taylor:4*

Offense:
Callaway:4*, Jennings:4*, wood Anderson:4*, chandler:4*, gray:4*, jg:4*, Kennedy:4*, Wright:5*, Morris:5*, Smith:5*

But yeah, not enough talent to beat Georgia state or even be competitive against an sec team.

I don't know if firing Pruitt is the best option, but what has he done as a head coach here that gives anyone confidence he will be successful?

Time! That’s all we have now. No one will come here. Fans are horrible, and everything is about winning.

I am confident Roddie Caldwell wasn't. He was the hand-picked successor by Bobby Johnson. They decided to give him one year as a tryout and he failed miserably and then they canned him.

John L. Smith was tagged with interim officially but he kind of was in the same spot. If he had a successful year, they would have made him HC.

Oh the we can't get a coach because our fanbase complains. Tell that to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, etc. They fired coaches with 9-3 records, coaches that have been there 2-3 years, and even a coach that won a NT. Guz Malzahn is on the hotseat almost every year at Auburn but he keeps coming back.

That is a lame argument and you know it.

Its probably gonna take you some time to accept what the Bama guy said as truth. But that's exactly what it was. Many on here just dont or refuse to admit it.
Just because you THINK it's the truth, doesn't make it so. It's an OPINION.
