Let The Purge Begin!

I’d be dancing too knowing that terrible season was coming to an end. Don’t want them to dance? Hire a decent proven coach with coordinators that have actually coordinated something in their life.

Just knowing that they don’t have to cover any more of the most poorly designed, poorly executed, poorly timed onside kicks in the history of football for another year is enough to make me dance along with them at home.

That is one stupid thought process there. Most competitive people are disappointed when things don’t go their way. For the players and coaches that were really trying to get that win, it’s a insult to see behavior like that. It’s called not having pride in your body of work and a slap into the faces that took the game seriously.

No one wants to see that mess...especially since it was supposedly from one of our leaders in the secondary . Word was that Shamburger and Warrior did the dancing
100% Shamburger was dancing. Didn't see Warrior do it and he's been one of the more vocal players talking about others not buying in so I'd be surprised if that was true.

If Tennessee is planning to sign a full class of 25 players, as many of the recruiting analysts are saying. We're going to see quite a bit of attrition in one form or another.

I believe -- and someone here can fact check this -- that Tennessee has 84 players on scholarship, only 11 of which are seniors. That's 12 available spots. In order to sign a full class, we'd have to have another 13 spots open up. Correct?

If I’m not mistaken, the transfers took three spots (Cryst, London and Thompson?) from this year. We can only sign 22, then hope for blue shirts to count forward to 2020

The video showing Shamburger dancing has Warrior standing really close by and he wasn't even swaying. He looked pissed. Shamburger was the only one up and moving.

I believe you are correct. I used to hate having to purge players on NCAA Football after signing a great class.

Tennessee Football: The Purge Will Commence!

If the rumors are true about players quitting I guess we will be hearing about the transfers and disgruntled ex-players over the next few weeks.
A lot of good reading inside especially the comments section. The more I read the more Lindsey becomes a foal point. Auburn seems to want to gain his trust for some reason. I think it's because they have the highly rated Bo Nix coming in and think they can get the offense back on track next year. No one is willing to say how much Gus input into the play-calling in 2018 when the tigers went backwards. Chip knows but we don't. At UT he would have a fresh start but not a good roster at all. JG is turning into a liability more than an asset because he isn't showing improvement in several areas.
There's the slightly outside chance that UT could get Lindsey and maybe convince Bo Nix to come here too. It may sound dirty but it's nothing Auburn would think twice about doing to any team.
Finally a purge is necessary. Several upperclassmen got an easy ride under Jones and still expect it. They're not giving their all for UT. The sad part is some are giving their all but it's not good enough to warrant playing time. They're just not athletic enough to compete in the SEC. UT got to this point all too quickly. It'll take another thread to re-open that can of worms and I don't care about re-hashing the past and all the negativity. Here's hoping for a good hire and I'm hoping we're not forced to have to accept Friend. I just can't visualize that as moving forward. He needs to demonstrate his ability to motivate and fix the offensive front 1st before being rewarded for doing nothing.

I think that people have already properly admonished your opinion with regard to the dancing, but I wanted to take a minute and address the onside kicks. We likely should have recovered several of them. The design of the plays were good, the execution on the kicker's part was nearly perfect each time, and I personally have little gripe with respect to the timing. That being said, you seem like you aren't going to be satisfied with anything this staff does, so I will conclude.

With depth being a issue, a very thin and not so talented group of linemen coming back on both sides of the ball, and recruiting going poorly compared to our rivals, purging the roster is the last thing we need.
Don't forsee any great offensive players coming into such volatile situation.....Pruitt will have another year to blame players!
