One thing Cignetti has shown us is tangible experience beats star ratings. Despite the upside GMac has, Mr. Dickens has tangible proof of his capabilities at a D1 college level.

This young man threw for 38 TDs and only 2 INTs. Also 2 consecutive seasons of roughly 75% completion. I don’t care what level someone plays QB, these are serious numbers.

I want JA but this guy cannot be passed up on and we can’t risk missing out on this talent due to a goofy judge who can’t make up his damn mind.

In 2 seasons he’s got 51 TDs to 5 INTs. Come on now…..he would FEAST in our offense!!!

Also this past season he went 46/46 in a single game!!!!!!
Finished 53/56.

If you don’t want this guy then you are high on drugs. No blue font needed.

I've been saying this. Another big thing is that he's already a junior so he shouldn't be that big of a threat to either of the two freshmen. It's a win win. He provides depth and experience and maybe we get lucky like Ole Miss did w Chambliss.

Hopefully he's not asking for a ton of $. It would be a good chance for him to prove himself in the best conference in college football.

As I said in the other other threads I've seen him mentioned in here. Like his stats and don't matter the level those are baller numbers
With that being said, does he have an agent or something hyping him up. I've seen multiple thread about him here and on a vols reddit

It’s baffling that some in here think they know which QBs would fit our system better than the actual architect of the system.
He's rated below Merk in most portal rankings, despite the ridiculously impressive stats, so that makes him kind of a non-starter (actually, pun intended) for us.

I think Dickens has been offered by Syracuse but they have a starter and another transfer from Kennesaw State and a hot shot FR coming so I'm not sure what's up with that. He's got offers and I hope he balls out somewhere at a higher level.

If he can keep up those stats at a decent level school then yeah..... Josh may have missed.

We have 3 QBs on the roster right now.
Mason Philips being the 3rd

3 total freshman QBs
GMAC (RSFR)
Philips (RSFR)
Brandon (FR)

If we’re not going to get a QB then we need to get a bigtime RB to play wit Bishop.

Justin Lamson is a much better fit schematically, and he’s more physically fit to play QB in the SEC. He began his career at Syracuse, and then transferred to Stanford, before ending up at Montana State this past season. He carried Montana State to an FCS National Championship this past season as well so he’s a winner. I know he recently said he was returning to Montana State, but I imagine if an SEC school offered him the opportunity to start, while also getting a huge raise in pay, that any FCS QB would be willing to listen. Give him a Google, and checkout his numbers. Video game level stuff lol.

Don't care about the ratings. All of the "top" guys are guys I don't want, and certainly not at the asking price for any of them. As for the stats, he wouldn't need to keep those stats up, just be better than Nico. With the way the defense is falling into place, that would be enough to be playoff bound. (All assuming he won the starting job over Mac.)
Now the 12.6 per completion, and the apparent lack of zip on his mid-range does concern me.

Anyone wanting Dickens needs to watch his film. Dude has no zip on the ball. Arm is probably a 5 out of 10 and that's generous. Good athleticism, but he's skinny as a rail and he's under 6 ft.

He will get eaten alive at this level.

The Cignetti references on this board are getting silly. Cignetti found the best quarterback in America. He didn’t just take a random and coach him up.
Actually, I read a post from a guy who frequents an Indiana message board (their FF is relatively new). He said that Cignetti micro-doses a lab synthesized version of the psychoactive compound, psilocybin. While groovin’ on psi, Cignetti was being harassed by an Indiana fan when he espied Mendoza. Cignetti motioned Mendoza over, shook his hand, and declared that Mendoza would be Indiana’s QB. Luckily, Indiana’s staff was able to sign Mendoza, and he responded exceedingly well to coaching, becoming the Heisman winner he is today.

I don’t know enough about this guy or the level of competition he got his stats against to be a yea or nay.

However the idea that Div II players cannot play QB at the Div I level was blown away by one Trinidaddy at Ole Miss this year. If the rest of the portal QBs make one go “meh” my next place to look would be the QBs in Div II that made the quarterfinal round of their championship series.

Sanders has an NFL arm. And he's bigger than this kid.
He doesn’t have a NFL arm. You’re crazy and he’s only there because his daddy played the media like Lonzo Ball.

Ryan Fitzpatrick started longer than most of these “NFL arms”. So did Tim Tebow.

Fitz and Tebow both had roughly NFL average arms. You don't know what you're talking about. And while they didn't have above average arm strength for the NFL, they would have been average to above average college arms. This kid doesn't even have close to an average college arm.

Sanders has bad mechanics and had a tendency to pat the ball before he threw. His doesn't have an elite arm by any means, but he's absolutely has an NFL caliber arm strength.
