So after losing AThomas and the hoops game today, I about started to join the chorus of....oh poor us..when are we going to be lucky and good things start happening to us.
But to hell with that...we’ve got to start MAKING nice things happen...if that means making up classes that nobody attends ok. Sure didn’t hurt UNCheat .....if it means hiring absolute immoral scoundrels that can recruit like crazy and know how to use bag men. Ok. By me
Im tired of being a choir boy loser. In every sport.
Anybody with me ready for a Renegade reVOLution? Let’s take what we want by any means necessary. I’m too old to wait around for trips to the playoffs and a final four.

Per Coach Aight's advice, lets talk about who we have....not who we don't have.

How 'bout that recruit...Alontae Taylor?

Choir boy loser? No, what you're saying is while hovered around the water cooler you're tired of people of giving your grief. Fair weather comes to mind. If you watched or listened to the UNC game today you would have been proud of a team that fought hard for all they could. Yes they came up short but we as fans... and that alluded s to over 99% here that's all you are or will ever be. I played ball on the DivII scale and knows what it's like to win and loose at a high level. If you for one second think about how this loss or a football game loss makes you feel bad, magnify it by 1000% and then you might come close to what a player feels. My son lost his opening round of the DivIII playoffs and even though he gets a conference ring cried like a baby because as fan YOU ONLY YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS, some of you didn't make it past Jr High playing ball but you all know more that the coaches. You people are a waste of breath and should pick up hurling or ice hockey to get your kicks.

I read in a post wanting JJ back and the poster mentioned football isn't about building character,,,,,,NEWSFLASH... thats 100% what it's about. Learning football prepares one to face living in adverse times, teaches team work, and makes one achieve goals you can't complete on your own. If you truly believe this doesn't build character in a student athlete then you need to step away from the game and play pac-man or something to give yourself the fan a sense of importance. I hate to clue you in but the normal player, plays for the man beside him and he doesn't give a rip (fan) thinks about it.

The average fan has never gone through what these athletes go through or never will but they tear down a kid like jumper who plays his tail off and has made a team they only wish they could. That kid alone has ran through more T's than they ever could but to make themselves feel special (morons) they feel the need to tear him down.

I played D2 ball and would have given anything to play D1 ball but the cards spoke and you play them as they lay, but I for one am tired of hearing any fan criticize a player for doing something they only wish they could do.

And for those that feel the need to slam CBJ every chance they get as well as Bob Kesling, GROW UP!!!!! So easy to condemn other for something you could NEVER do and to try to make yourself feel special tearing others down to elevate yourself is pathetic.

Builds character. Lol. Look around the nfl and maybe evaluate that again. Some of your other points I’m with you on.

I know the athletic department agrees that it's all about building character, and thus they can always say "mission accomplished" no matter the outcome of any individual game or season. Personally, I'm not paying as a spectator to watch character get built unless it's accompanied by excellent results. Plenty of character gets built in intramural leagues without selling tickets and padding funds.

Wouldn't surprise me if I found out we were cheating and still sucking.

We are going to see how our big recruiting team does the next month or so. You'd think after couple big recruiting weekends we'd start to see a few fall out way this week. Need to start building some momentum.

I'm not...lol. The GOAL of football isn't to build character--utter naive nonsense. If you get a great coach with great values and he can build character, then by all means, you have a really great coach.

The goal of football is to get coaches bigger contracts with more money and security, and to get players a chance to play in the NFL where there is big money.

The fans are just the useful idiots that finance the whole scheme.

"Let’s take what we want by any means necessary. I’m too old"

Ya don't just give in. Ya don't just cave like a ***** under the first sign of pressure. Ya don't just lie to yourself and justify ****ty behavior by saying "i'm not doing it... but the other guy must be right, so why not?"

If you're not true to yourself than what are you?

The man that starts trading in what he is and what he values for short term illusory gains, will no longer be capable of gaining anything substantial or meaningful ever after.

You know who said that? Me, just now. C'mon man your better than that, you're a Volunteer, ****ing act like it.

Jesus Christ, and I thought I knew something about cynicism.

I couldn’t enjoy a championship if I had had to cheat to win it. You claim to fame would have to be “ I am the best cheater. “

Football does build character it is just that too many coaches and players want to cheat there way through it. They get short term success. But fail in the long term.

Every program bends the rules. It’s just to what degree and if they get caught.

I think "winners always feel this way", they have a definite swag about themselves and take on all comers attitude......almost mandatory in the SEC, if you plan on being on top:)

A lot of Gators feel really bad about the Urban Meyer era.....but, we’re keeping the trophies.

I understand where the OP is coming from

Every single Division One school, including those seen as rigorous academically, are getting players through their programs with questionable "academic standards." No one is clean in this regard. Great news, since we are 60-something in recruiting, there is a ton of room to move up and "take nice things." So much better than having to "hold on" to a highly ranked class at this point.

It seems the very best football players, have a "devil may care attitude", are you suggesting the coaching staff and administration have this very same attitude?
