Let’s get Jeremy Pruitt

Pruitt, Venerables, Morris someone that understands the region and knows how to recruit it. We're not getting a good sitting HC but you might luck into success at taking a coordinator. Venerables would be the first guy I'd interview.

Keep trying guys.... You a re still way to high on current list. Not a single one of those would come here now... Not a one.

There are too many good coaches available for us to give up on getting a great coach, even after what should become known as "Currie's Great Schiano Hiring Fiasco of 2017." The only problem is this: The UTAD will have to be willing to shell out some $$$ to get a great coach instead of a mid-major "up-and-comer" or NFL reject. Here are some prospects who are still available, some of which most fans would be delighted with, and some may not like so well... but most likely would not start mattress fires throughout the city:

Petersen
Miles
Kiffin
Frost
Norvell
Leach
Dantonio
Taggert
Tedford
Petrino
Campbell
Venables
Pruitt

If any of these coaches are offered a contract similar to the one the Florida Swamp Gutters gave Mullen, and IF we are willing to pay the buyout, we can still get a top-notch coach! But if the UT Administration continues to keep the vault locked tight... they are demanding that we fans continue to settle for the mediocrity with which they are apparently happy to live with.

Didn’t we try the Saban coaching tree already? I think Florida did too and it didn’t work out for either of us.

He got run off at both FSU and UGA. He's bammer trash, and Brohm, Tee, or Miles would be way better.

Yeah, this.

Also, not sure how great of a "defensive mind" he is. He gave up 400+ yards to Auburn. In fact, the D gave up lots of yards this year to a lot of teams.

He has major personality issues and a reportedly short fuse. Would make for another toxic locker room.

Care to provide some supporting facts?

Same ethical reasons Petrino is not an option. Google it and many links come up to “rumors” swirling around him leaving FSU at the time. It isn’t defined in the mainstream press, but is discussed.

Just a curiosity question. I really don't know the answer. If you are going to hire a coordinator why not just hire Tee?

I'd prefer venables

How about Venables with Tee coming over as the OC. Venables also has a connection with Marion Hobby, an assistant with the Jags. Maybe a Defensive Coordinator?

Venables - HC
Martin - OC
Hobby - DC

I think something like this could really unite a fanbase.

If some of the reporting is accurate along with his own words, Currie was sold on Schiano for a long period of time. I have to wonder how many if ANY AT ALL were contacted about the UT vacancy? I suspect it was a one and done contact with Schiano only. If that turns out to be the case Currie took a crap on people like Patterson (again), and every one on this list. If that's the case he's going to have a hard time to convince any of them to come work for him which is just another reason he should be fired at 8AM ET tomorrow morning IMO.

The problem we have now is that it is unlikely any good candidate, including Pruitt, wants to come to be a head coach in such a dysfunctional environment, with probably a lame duck AD. The next coach will be a google coach, more than likely. And the Vols will continue to suck until the UT Admin, AD and boosters get aligned. Right now everybody is on a different page.
