This guy averaged 26 ppg last year and is a possible draft pick at the end of the year. He's only 6' 3" but we should get a decent reading on how strong our D is at guard when they come to town tomorrow night.
Have any of you had a chance to see their team this year?

I have seen the skyhawks play several tiimes in the last of couple of years and Lester Hudson is the real deal! UTM also plays a three guard system and their 2 guard Marquis Weddle has some nice range. They wont be able to match UT length wise, but UTM is athletic at the 1 2 and 3 position.

Saw Hudson last year against the Tigers. He had 35 against an elite defensive team, albeit early in the season. Tigers still mud-stomped UTM by 31. They have little else besides Hudson.

In their last outing, Hudson scored 27 and Weddle, 26. Their guard play is strong, it seems, but I'm sure Smith and Chism will eat them up on the inside. I do have questions about how good our guards are going to be able to defend and I think these guys are a good test.

Did Hudson just totally slip through the cracks? How did he end up at UTM?

Hudson came from Southwest TN CC in Memphis, I dont think he ever played basketball before his Junior year in high school. His grades held him back from going anywhere big. He is a great player, I went to martin last year and was there the night he got his quadurple (Sp) double. He is some kind of athlete and will probably be a first round NBA pick. Like someone said earlier UTM has another guard Weddle, who can light it up from anywhere. Outside that they cant match up with TN but Weddle and Hudson will be very good. THis UTM team will make a run in the OVC and probably make the big dance. UT should run away with this game but Hudson and Weddle will have big nights.

Sounds like Hopson will definetely have to be on top of his defensive game against these guards. It should be intereseting to watch seeing as how that is his big weakness supposedly is defense.
