I was just calculating that myself....with redshirts and juniors going pro, this is likely common across the NCAA P5 schools.

You'd expect freshman and sophomores to make up about 50% if there was no redshirting ad no attrition. Once you add that in then you'd add 10-20% shift so yeah 2/3 seems about right. Not an excuse. Every team has about 2/3 of their guys in that class.

Players will make mistakes. That' the nature of the game. So will coaches. But when you keep making the same mistakes and getting consistently out coached, something is wrong.

Well OP, it's true. Butch has done this from ground zero and just starting to collect talent, But here's the problem. We have been in position to win all these games and it wasn't the kids that lost it for us. This is what Butch took on. It's his job. He knows that. He is just now getting the depth he wants, and it's all young talent, but other teams are beating us with freshmen.

Pretty sure Alabama had about the same number of young players when they won their first Natty under Saban....in year three! Lets dispense with the same old tired excuses for mediocrity.

It is common knowledge that all coaches for major sports at P5 schools have paid message board posters and people that call the call in shows. We are know finally getting to see who those are and add them to our ignore list.

So? What does that have to do with the play calling inside the 10? What does it have to do with the defensive calls? Was it a freshman that let a WR get behind him? Butch always has an excuse....for everything. Hell he even blamed injuries for not being able to be in a dime package. Does he not know fans can look at the damned roster and count? I'm not saying he should or should not be fired but stop with the excuses.

Am I crazy or was Florida's QB1 a freshman?? Not to mention that they had 10 players suspended along with a couple of their playmakers....just stop with the excuses. Jones is in over his head. He is a super nice guy. Hell I have his autograph. The guy loves UT. All this doesn't make him a good coach, it makes him a good fan.
