Les Miles

So you would rather have someone who has never won big but might one day, over someone who has won big multiple times, who might not be able to do it again.

He certainly isn’t going to be able to rebuild now. Plus, in 5 years, he’ll be 70.

His resume crushes Kiffin’s but everybody wants Kiffin. VN never disappoints

We just got done with a stubborn coach that refused to change with the times.

Why do we want to lock ourselves down to 3-4 years with another stubborn coach past his prime?

A guy with 100+ wins and a title sure sounds like a joke. Especially when compared to a guy that left us after one year and has been fired as a HC everywhere else.

Yea, I do not want Les Miles. But Id rather him than Kiffin.

Everyone saying make Kiffin's buyout pro UT. Already worrying about him leaving. Hell, make Les' buyout pro UT so we can replace him without breaking the bank.

Or, not. Y'all do what you want, I don't get to make the decisions anymore.

Isn't he like 85 years old jk. We need someone younger who can relate to younger recruits.

With the mess Currie created? Why wouldn't SEC experience and a proven great recruiting record be a good option right now? I'm sorry but I actually think a seasoned vet is what this situation requires over an up and comer.

I love Tee Martin. But he's burned us before twice and I think this situation is now too severe to be taken over by someone with no HC experience.

I never thought Gruden would come to Tennessee. Still dont. I've actually lost a lot of respect for Gruden for the childish games he's played. Just come out and say NO. I also wanted Mullen and Kelly over Gruden. But I think this makeover job is for someone like Miles or Gruden.

Even Kiffin would be a better fit over Brohm or Martin imo. We need someone who will be able to convince recruits to come to Tennessee. Someone that will win an d quickly put this all in the past. Every major media outlet has shed a negative cloud over Knoxville.

Do we know who makes the LSU hats he used to wear? We might need their number because I don’t know if we have ones in his size

Agreed. that championship ring is still relevant enough to flash in front of a top recruit to pick their interest. Les Miles in the East. We'd be in the SEC title game within three years.

He probably is a good recruiter and coach, but it's hard for me to be sure of that considering he was at LSU. A blind monkey could recruit and coach LSU to at least 8 wins a season. Their current coach is proving that.
Sorry, this isn't really about Miles. With are facilities, history and now a growing recruiting base in the state, a blind monkey should do the same at Tennessee. Trouble is we keep picking blind monkeys. The reason is we keep getting blind monkeys to pick them. Hamilton,Hart, and blind and deaf monkey Currie.

Has SEC experience
Has beaten Saban
Has a NC
Proven recruiter
Loved by players
Loved by media

Only guy on the market in our budget price range that checks all of those boxes.

Has rumored to have contacted a booster so presumably has interest.

Makes way more sense than Kiffin. IMO

He's been fired...VN says the new coach can have never been fired. Kiffin has been fired twice, I am surprised they are pushing for him.

Tee Martin has a TN Vols Championship Ring.

Has refused to change his offense when it became outdated and predictable.

Like teams that run RPOs are just as predictable. Like our offense wasn't predictable? c'mon that's a poor excuse his team was built for power run. He had lackluster QB play and QB development. If he had a QB that could really sling it he would have had better outcomes. He had average at best QBS

Why are we not contacting him, recruiting would ignite and we could have a top ten class this year just him being introduced as the next head coach with tee as our OC

I'd rather have Kiffin than Miles, but I'm about a gnats fart away from not giving a sh!t so I might not be the best person to listen to..

I do think Kiffin (now) is a better coach, especially on offense. Bottom line it really doesn't matter because none of this will ever change until the REAL problem is dealt with...

Anyone thinking that Tee will come to be the OC and HC in waiting is in for another let down. Tee's agent is Sexton...no way he comes to UT as the OC after we burned Schiano (another Sexton client).

I agree with you about Tee. However people keep bringing up how sexton will now stop us from getting his clients. Sexton works for the coaches. If a coach wants, or is interested in being here, Jimmy will have to put his big boy pants on and go to work.

Sexton’s only job is to get his clients more money. If UT offers more than what he’s making at USC then Sexton will be on board.
