Les Miles for Tennessee's HC

Go get McIntyre from Colorado as he seems to be winning with NO talent on his team and he won his division and he inherited a REALLY BAD TEAM (worse than Tenn) and he turned it around in 4 years................

The conundrum is this, which type of coach do you go after? A young, up and coming coach that is not a proven winner on the biggest stage for a cheaper price? Or do you go big time winner at a high level for a high price tag?

As long as your healthy age doesn't mean that much, after 7-8 years the best of coaches get ran off at some point. It's becoming commonplace to have to replace a coach every 4-6 years throughout college football. Miles has plenty of stamina, more than many younger than him. But he needs a real OC, that could get him over the hump. GBO!!!!

saban built the monster that "was" lsu. with all the talent in la. miles couldn't get to the n.c. i don't think he would do so well at tn.

No, please don't. I agree about going for a proven major, but the agreement ends there.

Let Peyton, Kippy Brown, Fulmer, and Majors put their collective minds and coaching contacts together and get a concensus choice from these people who love Tennessee with all their hearts.

You have to admit, aside from the past couple of years, his team was in the mix every year with Bama. I think a Les Miles coached UT team would own Florida and Georgia, and definatly wouldn't lose to a sorry ass South Carolina or Vanderbilt team. It doesn't mean much, but just my opinion.

I agree, I think Les would dominate the east, and win the games he's supposed to win (unlike Butch). Just not sure if he can return to championships.

The key to coaches that are even good is how good of a staff they put around them. Guys that can get it done in the SEC not the mac or conference usa but the SEC. It's takes a very good coach and staff to stay in the top tier of this conference. GBO!!!!

Hiring a coach who got canned from LSU for a reason is not the answer at all. He underperformed with more talent than we have. Not to mention he refused to make any coaching changes cause of his stubbornness. He wouldn't be an upgrade over Butch.

I am game for Les coming to Knoxville. Something has to be done soon or else things are going to get real bad. But I am also for offering Urban Meyer like 8-10 million a year too. Don't tell me the money isn't there because that a line of bs.

Urban is at his dream job.

I am done with the mid-major, low rent, rising star, Butch Jones/Derek Dooley/Lane Kiffin experiment. I'm equally done with inept and indifferent athletic directors who care not for this program. Go get AND PUT A WINNER in the drivers seat and let him bring us back. Les Miles should be contacted immediately. Let him bring Chavis back to bring some respectability back. A DECADE of losing and budget hiring has me done, gone, off the wagon, finished. Until they show the same commitment the fans have, I have no use for UT's (alleged) football program.

Great, is that the oldest guy you could think of him besides Fulmer?

So you want to spend $5-6 million on a coach who can not win enough at LSU to prevent him from being fired. He had a hot bed from which to recruit and his choice of assistants and failed. Let him watch college football from his rocking chair where ever he wishes to move. Just don’t don’t let it be in Knoxville Tn.

When he wins the East and is consistently in Atlanta, y'all wouldn't complain.
