Les Miles for Tennessee's HC

Dooley actually did beat Butch. This is something that has always bothered me since the day Butch was hired.

Dooley inherited Kiffin's players that was good enough to beat Butch's Cincinnati team. Big talent difference between those teams that year.

hey Volbro...lay back smoke another one and sleep on it...on so many levels...:hi:

GO VOLS...RUN THE TABLE!

Thank goodness. I bet Hart was crunching numbers right after this thread went up.

please understand...Hart is not crunching any numbers except whatever money he can get from UT...he's gone...lame duck...not making really "big" decisions anymore...he and we're still waiting for the new AD...:)

GO VOLS...RUN THE TABLE!

Ya'll complaining about Butch being stubborn? Les Miles is exactly the same. He wouldn't change up his game philosophy and it cost him his job at LSU. Why would he be any different from Butch?

Because Les Miles philosophy actually works at this level?

That's my best guess.

There is no denying Butch Jones restocked the program from all time lows. However, this is as far as Butch will take you. From his days at Cincinnati, he is known to blow a game or two each season on his blunders. (I went to UC during Brian Kelly's time and followed Butch's progress)

Les Miles just got fired. No buyout associated. He was a good QB away from competing with Saban every year. Built a great program at LSU. His downfall was inability to evolve in offense. Seems like he is assembling a new team and also studying spread offenses. I think if we want to upgrade, this is a good time to go and get him. If not us, someone else will pick him up soon. Too good of a coach to be sitting at home. He is 63. Still can give us 4-5 good years.

This is not a knee jerk reaction. Even if we were sitting at 10-2 and headed to SEC CG, I would advocate getting Les Miles. If nothing else, he will be hands down best coach in the east.

Les Miles reviewing possible offensive, defensive coordinators for a return to coaching in 2017
WHY WOULD Les Miles come here? Money- doesnt need it. This is NOT A TOP 10 job- hasnt been for 12 years. He just left a goofy fan base, why work for a worse one?

Les Miles had one of the easiest coaching jobs in college football and could not get it done. Louisiana is one of the hottest recruiting beds in the country and LSU has no competition in the state for that talent. LSU often won despite Les Miles. IMO he is a terrible X and O guy. If he couldn't get it done with LSU rosters loaded with NFL talent there is no way he gets it done anywhere else.

He seems to realize that's what got him fired. I think he'll adapt this time. He's gonna land another pretty good job I'd bet.

Be careful what you wish for.He got fired for a reason and his debacles this season were inexcusable period.

Les Miles is tying to put a new staff together because he thinks he is going back to LSU. The guy is an idiot. He won on talent alone.

The 98 NC was the worst thing that could have happened to this fanbase. We've had 13 +10 win seasons since 1960 that's barely 20%. 11 9 win seasons since 1960. First 9 win season since 2007 was last year. 1960-1964 was just as bad as the 2008-2013. Majors turned it over to Fulmer and Fulmer got us to the top. We've been down before and we'll get back just like we did from 1965-1972. Butch has on the road back. It starts with recruiting. Then player development turns into wins. Some will debate development overall, but we've got our stars too. Those guys that love their coach and this University. But, threads like this only cause devisiveness among the fansbase. No other fanbase as storied as ours eat their own like we do. Fans used to expect to win, now they hope to win. 5-0 going to A&M and all you hear is we're going to lose. Stop complaining and do more supporting. KellyJr, Jelly, JRM, Cam, Barnett, Jumper all give there ALL, but what you give is ALL your COMPLAINING.

Hey, you know how our offense has been struggling to evolve and stay ahead of the curve??? Let's go and hire a coach who was fired for that very same reason to fix it! To be honest I wouldn't hate the hire but your logic for doing so is lacking.

No, he won on wild crazy luck. Les was daring, and was called mad hatter for a reason.

He won't come here.
