I find it interesting that players like Little and Swain talk a lot about "letting Jones fix it".
Fix what exactly?
Fixing something implies that you had done something right before (or previously). But Jones really hasn't done much of anything except for "stabilizing" the program and two top 5 recruiting classes.
He is 29 and 21 to this point.
He dropped two games last year that should have been won and would have probably put the Vols in the top 10.
He dropped two games this which were even worse losses than last year's losses to Okl and Fla. Had he beaten S Car and Vandy like he should have Vols would have been in the top 10, they would have won the SEC East and would probably being playing the Sugar Bowl. If Jones would have beaten Vandy the Vols would be bowling in NOLA.
Another interesting fact - "Of 56 players UT signed in 2013 (24) and 2014 (32), 26 left before completing eligibility". I fully expect to see more transfers after the completion of this season.
So again I say what has Jones really done? He hasn't won anything of import save for this year's win over Fla. Giving a coach another year to "fix" things implies and presumes that coach has actually done, or more importantly, won something. Jones hasn't done much winning when it matters.
That said Jones isn't going anywhere unless he leaves on his own for another job to restart his clock.
