How much playing time do you think he will get this year? I really like him more than I do Hardesty. I think Creer should get 5-10 carries a game.

It probably depends on how winded Foster and Hardesty get, what the score is(if we need to pass to catch up or not), etc...

I do think he is a better pass catcher than Hardesty, however, a healthy Hardesty is hard to bring down.

Also Fulmer believes in seniority so I think Hardesty will get more carries than Creer, but..Creer is a playmaker I believe. I dont think that being on the field for 15 plays and getting a shot a run or a reception about 5-7 times out of those 15 is too much to ask.

currently, Poole is pushing Creer more for that # 3 slot then Creer is pushing Hardety for that # 2 slot..

If Hardesty stays to script (gets nicked up early and stays that way) Creer will likely get carries by default. Having said that I think if he stays healthy* Hardesty is a pretty good back.

*Of course, that's like saying having the Vic Secret girls come model for me in the shower would be a good thing. I haven't seen it yet and the odds are against me seeing it in the future.

I always thought I heard he did it so he'd be able to play more once Jamal and the other Travis were gone.
You are correct. He redshirted to get out of the same class letter as Henry and Lewis so he could get on the field. Not to downplay the situation with his father.

Creer will get 5-10 carries a game and probably do kickoffs

i wish they would redshirt Poole since he's 4th on the depth chart. Of course, if need be, they could bring him in anytime.

They don't need to burn a year of his eligibility with him being 4th on the depth chart. He's a good back, let's give him 4 fresh years because Hardesty is going to be a senior next year, and Creer a junior.

I would be surprised if Poole didn't redshirt this year.

i've yet to hear that Poole is strong contention for 3rd string. He's been impressive, but I don't think he'll be Creer out

I was impressed with Poole in th OW game. He runs with a low center of gravity- reminded me a little of Travis Henry... of course we were sitting pretty far from the field!

Clawson really, really likes what Poole is doing...

coaches really really liked what Quintin Hancock was doing two years ago too and he was being talked about a ton, but has yet to really show us anything. Hopefully it's different with Poole

RB is a position that should not be redshirted. Rarely is a great RB going to be in school for 4 years (Foster is the exception), let alone 5 years.

Ive always been a fan of redhshirting players, to give them a year to build up muscle and speed, figure out the offense/defense and be better in the coming years. With us being very deep at RB, I would wanna see Poole redshirted.

my theory....

if he isn't in your top 3 in the depth and you don't expect him to play atleast 15-20% of your snaps (which Poole right now is neither) then go ahead and redshirt him

Along the way someone will get banged up and Poole will need to be game ready. The best way to do that is to just play kid the entire season. By all accounts he has looked good and is someone the coaches expect to contribute. I only like redshirting if the guy isn't expected to contribute much even if he ends up playing a few series.

the way Fulmer does thing is he dont redshirt until like the 7th or 8th game of the season...so he has that back if the injury bug takes it toll

the # 1 reason to play him is he COULD end up in the 2 deep or starting next season.

Arian will be gone. Hardesty has injury history and may or may not get rid of that history this season.

I think it likely Poole will play just for the experience he can gain.

The problem is history dictates that hardesty will probably not make it through the season injury free. He is a good back and i would love for him to remain healthy so they could reshirt poole. Unfortunately i don't know if that's gonna happen. IMO i think poole will take that 2nd spot from creer next year once he learns the blocking schemes.
