This scares me as I am worried he won't be bought in. Feel bad for him as well if it went down as it sounds.

EDIT: You never know though. Sometimes missing out on your first choice is often the best thing that can happen to you based on some of my life experiences.

Why does the drama always seem to find TN? Easy solution here. If he wants to play at UT and this is all some kind of OSU hoax, then let him stay. If he wants to go to OSU, then cut him loose and make a clean break.

This matches up reported from BuckNuts on Wednesday that Bey wanted to sign with Ohio State but since he is 17-years old, needed his mom to also sign. But Bey’s mom, and apparently brother, want the blue-chip athlete to play his college football at Tennessee.

What’s next is uncertain. Bey can attend Ohio State without approval from his family. He can ask Tennessee for a release and then sign with Ohio State after he turns 18-years old on Christmas Eve. Even if he doesn’t get out of his release, Bey could enter the transfer portal after it officially opens on Jan. 2.

Posted this earlier. Seems to be the only explanation as to what happened. Mom and brother signed instead of the kid then took steps with his social media to keep a lid on things... unsuccessfully it appears.

I'm sure Heupel will speak with the parties and if Bey doesn't want to be at UT, I'm sure Heupel will let him go. Who knows, he may discover after a time that OSU wasn't the best choice after all and he portals back to UT?

In the end, you’re exactly right. The kid will do just fine either way.

In this instance, Josh did nothing wrong. (We can discuss his tolerance of poor defense or his limitless faith in some questionable assistants elsewhere.) If someone sends in signed papers, what’s he supposed to do—-call them back immediately and say “Oh no, we aren’t accepting this signed document”? I’m sure as this unfolds, Josh will do the right thing and they are evaluating that now. If the kid really wants to play at Ohio State, let him go.

Separately, there are just some folks that wake up in the morning whining and complaining. Wouldn’t want to go through life like that. They know who they are.

There have been numerous situations like this. Usually at least one a year. I remember the Fla WR Copeland & his mom being pissed he didn’t chose Ala or Tenn. Landon Collins mom got mad when he chose Ala over LSU. One of the first ones was LSU Chris Jackson mom refusing to sign his NOI. He just showed up at LsU first day of school.

I agree. CJH and Bey more than likely have had a conversation or will today? Or maybe they have not and one is waiting for the other to call. I can't image a 17 year old calling and telling his coach this is what happen.
Being in HS this sounds like a lot of grief going on, about his signing at Tennessee. It is probably fan based and kid BS, but more TX based than anything as they could be taking the OSU fans disgruntlement and running with it.
Texas probably has more to do with this than we know.

Kinda like Archie Manning and Peyton? I can still remember the look on Archie's face when Peyton signed. He was not a happy camper.

We can't know the family dynamics in Legend Bey's life and diagnosing "bad parents" based on 3 or 4 days of drama is weak. Just stop. You don't know what's going on.

I'm cynical. I think we offered a "signing bonus" to Mom and she took it knowing full well Legend would end up at Ohio State, so they got an extra bag and Legend gets to go where he wants.

From a purely cynical, leaving out moral lessons, point of view, that's good shrewd parenting that perhaps worked for Nico and Boo.

If true, and I DO NOT know if it's true, we've got to do better when the "how much will you give us to sign" question comes up.

What is confusing about this not wanting to come to Tennessee narrative is that it had been widely reported that he talked with Heupel and Pope on signing day and he talked about why he chose Tennessee with some of the volquest insiders.

Really wonder if OSU after losing Henry came back to Bey Wednesday night with more money and this is just a smokescreen with his family taking the blame for this choice.

Anyways it will work itself out. If he is a vol then he’s a vol. if not I guess signing the #1 wr in this class is an okay consolation prize.

I think your statement is close to how I feel. Not sure what Josh was supposed to do. The one CLEAR thing is NOBODY knows all the facts around this case. Our fanbase does love rumoring and gossiping etc ....so this feeds right into that narrative 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Agree there is probably more to this than what is being said. And no doubt that OSU is in the middle of this in some way.
