Talk of lawsuit file next week after big 10 CG... Schiano vs UT. If this happens, no clue if he has a case or not, but when companies are sued, potentially having to pay out big dollars, usually those who bring about the legal pain are separated, with cause, I'd think in this case. Only reason I'd think Schiano would go thru with it is if he thinks he won't have a job at OSt next year and has no shot at HC job anywhere, so more damage to his reputation wouldn't matter as much to get a payout.

Would hate to see it but maybe it has to get this bad to clean house and establish new policies on donor influence?

I’m not sure what Schiano can sue UT for unless Davenport signed the MOU. The University has nothing to do with fan reaction to his hire. Schiano did not lose his job or have expenses incurred from moving, selling his home, or quiting his job.

If he wanted to sue anyone, maybe he should go after McQuery.

If everyone signed off on the MOU, then they should have stuck to their guns and hired the man instead of caving under fan scrutiny. If the administration failed to check the legal issues associated with backing out in the deal, then everyone involved should be fired for incompetence.

It will be a defamation lawsuit but who is he going to sue? Maybe Clay Travis? The rock? A few college students?

There was a 10 minute segment on Tony's show with contract lawyer. Said tough case but certainly a case to be made on intent, outside of MOU. Point is even if doesn't go to court and we have to pay a few million $$$ not to have it be out in public, it's painful and someone won't make it thru the ordeal. Said Barnes out was $1mm on non executed contract.

He also said it is unclear whether Schiano has a job next year at OSt since he officially tendered his resignation with acceptance of the MOU.
