Until I see facts I don't buy it for digital signals. Monoprice stuff is fine quality.

It may be. I haven't checked them out.

And 240hz is a crock. It's a sales gimmick. There is no noticeable difference between 120 and 240 except that your picture ends up being choppy. Some people actually end up turning off the frame multiplier because it ends up looking so fake. Looks like it could have been filmed on a camcorder or something.

I COMPLETELY disagree. Watch any action sequence at the right distance away from the TV, and 240 kicks ass. You may be right on DVDs, but Blu-Ray loves 240.

+1 to what Sab said. Plasma > LCD all day long and it's almost non-debatable, unless you're putting it in an incredibly bright room.

Mid to high-level Panasonic is definitely the best widely available stuff out there.

From an ex-TV salesperson to a current one, agreed 100%. 240hz looks jerky and awkward, and I feel like I can see the actors acting.

+100000, it is really awkward.

When you are watching sports it is fine, but when people are just talking and slowly moving it always weirds me out.

And your picture pays the price for it. Get a high speed, 1.4 HDMI cable. There's a reason why better cables are more expensive. They are better cables.

Unless you have a 3D tv or a very high end plasma, you will not see any difference in picture quality if you grab a 1.4. I will also disagree with you about expensive HDMI cables as far as anything below 1.4. There is absolutely no difference in cables 10 ft or shorter no matter if it is Monster or Transparent.

agreed. Anyone paying $100 for cables either has money to burn or is a sucker for fancy packaging. Monoprice all day

Monoprice ftw! I ordered 4 hdmi cables, and a pair of audio cables from them. Paid $27 bones, with shipping, and got them in 4 days.

Monsters highest end stuff has this neat "cables for life" type deal with lifetime warranty and replacements if your cables are out of date.

At least they used to.

Yep. Can't go wrong with the Panasonic or Samsung.

It looks the same on a Blu-ray as it does any other time.

The fact that you do not have to worry about refresh rate on a Plasma tells you all you need to know about which is superior. Motion blur is non-existent.

If there's a Best Buy in your area, they should have one on display. Not something I'd spend 2 or 3 grand on. JMO

Yeah, it looks cool, but it's not something I would go out and buy a TV for. Figure out how to do it without the glasses and we'll talk about ground-breaking.

Personally never liked vizios. You get what you pay for.

As for LCD vs plasma debate, strictly on picture quality, plasma is and will be the best. It's pretty much non-debatable. The only reason to get LCD is you need a tv less than 40" or you are looking at significant glare issues in your living room.
