Lebron James future

Has Lebron played his last game at the Q in a Cavs jersey?

My fantasy is that Lebron and Bosh come to the Knicks and Phillip Jackson decides to return home to coach them.

I know this fantasy is as plausible as my other fantasy where Megahan Fox, Selma Hyeck and Shakira show up in my bedroom. Won't happen cause I can't spell Selma's last name and that probably pisses her off plus I never gave them a key to my house.

You actually WANT D'Antoni to stay around or did I mis-read that?

Okay, they've got new faces in the front office. Thanks for informing me. Sounds like you're talking about signing three guys who could eat up around 80% of their cap. What does that do for role players and the bench? You need these to win.

NY will have at least 36 mil of cap room to spend and if they give up a second round pick (they have two, one from the Jazz) they could be around 42 mil. Rookie Toney Douglas, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Bill Walker and Eddy Curry are the only players signed for next season, leaving at least eight spots to fill.

That's why if they sign Lebron and Bosh, Lee most likely will be left out. He'd probably sign with Miami. I'd rather keep Lee, I just haven't seen what the fuss is all about with Bosh. Danilo was picked with Lebron in mind and so was Toney Douglas.

The good news for us Knick fans is that Chicago, Miami, and NY are the big spenders in this free agent class and NY has the most to offer.

I'm not a big fan of D'Antoni but he's better than Zeke. I don't think he'll be around a long time but Walsh likes him and I'm not real crazy about Walsh, but at least he's better than Zeke. The Calapari rumors have grown some legs, esp. with a WWW sighting recently with Dolan Jr.

WWW sightings happen with everyone.

If Cal stays at UK, I'm tending to see Chicago as the likely destination for James. I'd say their roster is the most "Lebron-ready" and would give him the best chance at winning titles with the way they're constructed. They key thing is not making Lebron HAVE to be the clutch guy; Rose can certainly step in there. I think he's proven to have the clutch gene that Lebron sometimes lacks. I don't see anybody playing for NY like that at the moment, and I haven't seen anybody like that on their list of free agent targets.

Of course, that's pending the coach. If he ends up in Miami (which I doubt happens) then I'm sure Riles will do his usual scumbag move and give whoever the HC is the boot to take the reins when things are looking up.

Bottom line, if Chicago manages to land a good coach then that's likely the only destination LBJ can land that will turn them into immediate title contenders; anywhere else in the East without some serious readjustment will just end up resulting in a repeat of Cleveland's results over the last few years. And that's just the way the East is built right now, very few teams actually have a quality nucleus, let alone the talent to go with it in order to play for the title.

Hiring Calipari is the only reason Lebron would sign with Chicago. I still don't think its likely because of you-know-who's shadow. The only shadow in NY is Ewing and its one of underachievement.
Chicago may be more "Lebron ready" but with up to 8 spots to fill NY has the luxury of letting Lebron pick who he would like to play with.

As a Knick fan I am hoping that this is on his mind, but I still dont think we get him. Your argument that I highlighted is just as much in play as the thought that it is very hard to play in NY. The stage is much, much higher and there will be a ton of more pressure to perform than was at Cleveland. So while I agree that playing in Jordan's shadow might be on LBJ's mind, I dont think it will play as big a part as you might think.

I don't think it will play a big part but it will ne in his mind. Ultimately he will be compared to Jordan every game esp. playoff games.
I think the biggest factor in his decision is the fact that NY has the roster room and cap room to sign him and then say, "who else do you want."

This is one thing I've always disagreed with, that "NY media market pressure." IMO it's a bunch of media hype BS. NY will never put the same kind of pressure on an athlete (except a Yankee) that they will see in a small market, especially ones where that team is the only show in town. If Lebron failed and left NY, it would be talked about but people move on. If he fails and leaves Cleveland, the city is devestated possibly even to the point where it has some sort of effect on the local economy.

I don't know what he's going to do, I've just prognosticated on what I think would be the best fit for him going forward. My guess is that picking his teammates is probably a decision best left out of Lebron's hands. That's yet another thing that will just lead to another repeat of what happened in Cleveland -- the player dictating the team.

Maybe LeBron changed his number for one reason and one reason only...he can't wear 23 in Chicago.

Just saying.

Nobody has a clue whether he is going or staying and if they think he is going they have no idea where he is going...some guy on ESPN thinks he will go to Miami of all places.

This is going to be worse than the Brett Favre saga...well almost.

That's a pretty effin' tall order. Boston losing the series at this point will literally be a nearly historical precedent, and IF that happens, then Cleveland faces Orlando with about a week less rest. As far as I'm concerned, the Cavs are dead men walking right now, their chance of making it out of the East are slim/none.

Lebron let the cat's head out of the bag when he told the fans that he spoiled them with his play. He's done in Cleveland.
I don't buy the Calipari to Cleveland rumor either. It could happen, but I think he would use his connection with WWW and Lebron to get in a big market.

If LeBron wants to play in New York and wants Cal ( disaster waiting to happen ) it will more than likely happen, he does not need WWW.

Actually he does need WWW because Walsh doesn't want Cal that's why WWW being seen with Dolan is newsworthy.

Should be an interesting game tonight. I hate everything Boston but it wouldn't kill me to see them close it out so the drama can begin.

Crappy Cleveland still has no current pro championship in any sport. Bunch of losers.
