Moving across the country to Arizona on March 8th. Gonna make a two day trip of it and plan on taking some pictures on the way out.(Posting)

Any experiences and places to stop along I 40 would be appreciated.

1698 mile journey to my destination, should be fun.

Gonna be at one of the most popular west coast spring break destinations, so should be a great first week.

Had a flat tire about 10:30 pm one time on I-40 & I had no idea how dark the night is out there. Just be sure you have a good working flashlight with you just in case something like that happens. And make sure you have "air" in the spare tire.

Lake Havasu? Anyway, in October I moved from Spokane, WA to Savannah, GA. 3 days. Boom. Love it here so far. Make the most of what you can man. I grew up on the West coast.

It's a nice drive. I did the southern route on the way out and drove 40 when coming back to VA. There are some really long stretches on boring though so bring a lot of music

Any place in New Mexico is beautiful. You should pass the huge ass meteor crater somewhere as well. You will be very close to historic Route 66 as well. Also you will pass Winslow Arizona. That's from the eagles song take it easy. "I was standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona"......

I moved to Cali and back twice. The first time my wife was quite ill and knocked out on meds the whole trip. And about a half hour out of town in the Budget rental truck, I finally turned on the stereo and discovered it didn't work. At all. So I drove across the whole damn country with no one to converse with and nothing to listen to (the Walkman was buried somewhere in the depths of the truck).

My advice, then: check the damn radio.

When I drove to Vegas we went Ohio to Colorado. Denver down to Santa Fe. Santa Fe to Phoenix.

check out the petrified Forrest if your near it. gotta be honest though between Colorado springs and Phoenix it gets damn creepy at night. I swear I drove four hours and only saw one car that was way off in the distance going up a mountain. If you want a eye opener drive though an Indian reservation while out there.
