Did we just get the next big lesson today?

We won a game we shouldn't have. Somehow, we managed to win this game.

I know a lot of it was UAB stabbing themselves in the foot, but their is an obvious flip side to that.

I think this was a perfect let-down game, but I'm hopeful somehow digging this one out on a great final play will serve us well in November. The merits of this team can only be judged on winning the last 4.

Having said that, was this the worst win ever at Neyland? I'm wracking my brain, and the only other game close was the WA St game in the 90s where we beat them on a Nilo Silvan reverse. However, at least it was a true defensive stalemate.

The 2005 UAB win wasn't exactly stellar. You take away a DL's interception and our preseason #3 team opens the season with a loss to the Blazers.

The 2003 Duke game was tight until we opened it up in the fourth quarter.

Yeah, but we got a pick-6 this game, and they left 9 - 12 points on the field.

The 2005 Memphis game was a narrow win over a team that literally did not have a QB and the running back that carried that team was unable to play.

The worst win is still better than the best loss.

There was a Rutgers game in 02 or 03 that was pretty horrible. Hell, the NIU game in 2008 was embarrassing.

UAB beat us in Tiger Stadium one year with Saban so as ugly as squeakin by is, it could be worse.

This. Hopefully people will begin to understand that sometimes programs are down and no matter how good the coaching, things happen. Give it time people.

There is certainly something to be said for learning how to win close games. The worrisome part is the opponent - I would have expected the 2010 team to learn how to win close games against Ole Miss or Kentucky, not UAB.

Let me just say that watching that game was excruciating. Outside of the first quarter, I don't think it's possible that we could be worse on offense.

We all knew this would be a rough year. These men are up against a hell of a wall and I am proud of them.

A win is a win...let it go.

At least we aren't Texas, tonight.

GBO.

don't forget Stocker's dropped td

That was a really tough catch. I agree with the old saying "if you touch it, you catch it" but a lot guys who are highly thought of would of dropped that pass.

A knife stuck in his foot would explain Shankapotmus' performance today.
