with the star studded lineup of recruits we have visiting this weekend, do we think DC or any other coaching leaks will happen? I mean these kids will have to be told something. They will have legitimate questions as to who in the hell is going to be coaching them. It's venom for other programs to use against these kids. This has to be is a critical and very crucial time for Dooley and what's left of the staff. Imagine Santos, McNeil, or whomever asking "hey, who's going be my coach?" answer "um we don't know, but we are working on it".

opinions?

If Dooley does not have a DC in place when they get here, not good at all. Some might just go elsewhere.

I cant get over how everyone think we will have a rash of decommitments if we dont hurry up and hastily hire someone by the times the planes land. How stupid would you feel if you decommitted because a school didnt hire a DC in less than 2 weeks and then after you spurned them they landed someone you would kill to play for?

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

I don't think i could blame them. this is a very unstable program. we can't get position coaches to come in and take a DC job in the SEC. im really starting to believe dooley is not an easy person to coach with.

I think I am headed to this line of thinking. Getting a DC before this weekend would be helpful, but not as helpful as a great DC hire.

According to Hubbs, Santos is not coming on his visit tomorrow. Not exactly your point, but he's a huge cog in this recruiting class and he is not coming because "the drive was too long to make without having the defensive hires completed."

Not having a full staff in place is hurting UT on it's biggest recruiting weekend of the year.

Its not hurting UT as badly as everyone is making it out to be. Especially if there are better options for DC if we use more time.

The reason Sanots is not coming is because its on his dime, I dont blame him but that does not mean he is decommitting.

That is exactly what I have been saying, while everyone tells me to be patient. Time is a luxury that we can't currently afford

Plenty of time to hire four coaches...

I'm going down to the bus station to look around

I posted an ad on craigslist (Knoxville) in the help wanted section. "Defensive Coordinator Needed". It was flagged pretty quick. I tried to do what I could. Maybe I will head down to Jason's Deli and see what Gunner has to say on it.

This trip was always on his dime. That hasn't changed. What has changed is the staff or lack thereof.

I'm not completely disagreeing with you on taking the time to find the right hire, but Santos not coming is directly tied to staffing issues.
