Leaked Info on purpose now?

That is what he should have done with Schiano, gauge the reaction before putting a contract in front of Greg and yesterday never happens. He learned his lesson the hard way.

Lack of leadership in UTAD.

Doug Dickey would have handled the past 10 years with class.

Dickey was a coach before being an AD - like the other ADs before him. This is what happens when you make business majors ADs; they fail miserably because they don't know the business, but after enough classes someone anointed them and said they were qualified to run things.

Just an observation here but the last 3 hires have been bad. But why? The last couple hires for sure Tennessee ended up with the 4th choice guy. If it's such a great job why is it painfully obvious nobody wants it. Chip kelly didn't want it,Jon Gruden nope,Dan mullen negative. Butch Jones was never a first choice.....Derek Dooley was never a first choice. Why is it nobody wants the job? If it's such a great destination why can't it be filled with relative ease.

LOL! You gave 3 names. Chip Kelly turned down Florida as well... Jon Gruden has no interest in the college game and may never coach again at all... Troll.

Currie was presented a lesson; doubt seriously that the arrogant pr... learned it.

Call it what you want. I actually want Tennessee to have a good program. I don't want to get beat by them but I would like to see them relevant again. It's good for football. Its good for the SEC. It's even better for the east. But you're obviously part of the Tennessee fan base that I really don't care for so.

If it's Jeff Brohm they might want to run it up the flagpole. I don't think Tee Martin, Lane Kiffin or Les Miles would evoke a negative reaction. I honestly don't think anyone would create the Mt. ST. Helen's eruption we saw yesterday. That was unprecedented.

Seriously? I mean, seriously?

Info is getting leaked because Currie is finally asking coaches.

Sadly, most of the good coaches are locked down now.

He went all in on Schiano and failed.

How is he still AD again?
Haslam wanted Schiano once Mullin was gone

Currie gets to make the pick. Train has left the station. Gauranteed we will not have 100 percent buy in...but we will rally behind the coach, either way.

I think they'd be afraid to try Kiffin at this point. They can't risk a reaction like he might generate. I don't think he's the worst idea, but they can't risk the PR side of it.

I think a lot of people have always been okay with Kiffin. Just a butt hurt few that can't believe he would leave for his dream job and hold a grudge. Fact is, the guy is a hell of a coach and a great recruiter. Wants more than anything to beat the mess out of Bama.

Think about it......everyone has been hearing about FL and UCLA before anything happened. Now we will all start hearing about A&M, Ark, and Miss ST..........

When you are doing a real search, there is NO way to keep things under raps; however there was NO real info on the Tennessee search.......because Currie already had Greg the Douche in his back pocket.

I don't care who you are.....most people like money......and if you know something or hear something (a "real" source) you will let it out to someone for $.

OK maybe I need to stop calling him Greg the Douche.....that prob isn't very Christian like of me.

It’s almost comical in a sad way. Currie was trying to be so secretive not letting anything out and not even shutting down the grumors like he should have and then it comes back to bite him in the ass big time

This is a new world with social media. Don’t let old sports media tell us who we want and should hire

I'll take Tee or Kiffin

You all are desperate and have lost expectations for UT!!!

I know the administration has no respect for program, but just because they have does not mean I will. My expectations for program stay the same. and I want those holding us back including fans that want to lower expectations!!!

Of all the potential coaches available who do you think would get the fan base more energized and win games right now that would realisticly take this job at the present moment?

I actually think Kiffin would. Who would have thought after the mess when he left but this is where we are at now and what a comeback story it would be

I wondered that. Seems every rejection is breaking news on espn app. Witten rejected (not sure why his name was even brought up) now cutclife. I don't know if espn is just trying to make us look like an even bigger joke now or what.

Am I wrong or did Clay Travis bring up witten?

You have to ask more than 4 guys! There are probably about 10 or so great coaches and and just as many or more good coaches. Why just ask 4 or 5? That makes no sense.

Ironically I see this turning out just like the Kansas State hire. They'll bring back the old guy- in our case CPF to right the ship and buy time to get stable. He will put together a VFL staff IF they let him.
I am laying in bed this morning thinking about writing my " I give up you can have it" letter to the powers that be. Im a former graduate, usher, season ticket holder, financial donor. But it's as Currie puts it "exhaustive search" mood perpetually. I'm exhausted from it all. My family deserves more of my time and efforts than UT these days.
