Didn't see a thread here on the game so I thought I would make one. Interested in finding other Vols fans who play League of Legends.

My IGN is Attilian. I play Mostly Top Lane and AD Carry but will do just about anything. Hit me up guys and lets start a convo about LoL on here.

Dumb question but what makes LoL so insanely popular?

I'm with Freak, would like some kind of rundown about the game.

I used to play diablo II and still crushed by the suckage of D3. This game thought gets some serious traffic

Well LoL has its roots in the Warcraft 3 mod, Defense of the Ancients, or DotA as many call it. I would imagine what makes it appealing is different for different people. For me, it's because I enjoy team games much more than solo games, especially competitively and rts games like Starcraft tend to be more dominated by the 1v1 matchup where LoL and DotA are 5v5. Also I enjoy the aspect of controlling one single awesome champion. There's also the fighting game esque side of it that's about counter picks and such. It's just a fun strat game if you aren't into the more actions per minute, build order dominated side of strategy and like more action.

I downloaded it last night and when I clicked the desktop icon, it loaded the LoL logo and just froze there on my screen?

Hmm, sometimes when I start it up, the process didn't end correctly but it asks me in a pop up message if I want to end the process. Interesting problem you had though.

Still does it just sits like it's waiting to load the game/client and never does. Have no idea what to do

I reinstalled and ran as admin and it worked. Maybe a coincidence, not sure.

So I'll be on parts of today. I'll post sign in info shortly

Will finally get to play some the next few days. Any suggestions on a character to learn first?

Well of course different characters do different things. I started out with Kayle. The "beginning" characters in the game are considered Kayle, Garen, Ashe, Master yi, Annie, Ryze, and Soraka. I love Garen. Tons of damage, pretty tanky, easy to learn.

As you get higher lvl you'll start to understand the metagame (as there is with any Strategy game) and come to hate...and love it. I swear, its like a friggin basketball team with positions.

I used pantheon, but didn't care for him. Finally Getting to play some more before work today.

He's a top tier champ. Did you lane with him or did you try to jungle? (The jungle is where he shines once you understand the role Anyway. It's the hardest role in the game. It's like a point guard. His job is to set up the kills for the rest of the team.)

I don't know anything about lingo or roles yet, but I took it upon myself to tank/clear most of the minions while slowing or AOE the champions for others to kill. I went something like 0/4/9

just played 5v5 against AI with Rammus. went 4/5/13. Starting to like this tank/gank business

I'm starting to play some 5v5 human games now and figuring some things out. If anyone wants to play send me a message on there. I have monday and tuesday off, so will be on a good bit then
